Chapter III Methodology This study deals with the procedure which will be used: It contains the list of specific materials and the equipments needed. The researchers used the I.P.O method the short term for Input,Process and Output. It has 3 phases namely, : (1) Gathering of Materials (2) Formulation of the Product (3) Testing and evaluation of the product.
Input Process Output
5 cups of Malunggay Alternative Leaves Phase I – Gathering of the Malunggay as Mortar and Pestle Materials. Cleaning Agent 5 tsp.water Phase II – Investigation of Container/Tupperware the Process 2 ½ tsp. Baking soda Sponge Phase III – Testing and Commercial Cleaning Evaluation of the Process Agent In terms of… A.Effectivity B. Physical Appearance C.Smell Phase I - Gathering of Materials The researchers will have to go to the market in Navotas in order to buy the needed materials for the experiment. The researchers make sure that Malunggay the most important materials needed is fresh. Since the researchers doesn’t have a Mortar and Pestle the researchers just borrowed one to acquaintance and because the researchers will just use it for once researchers didn’t bothered to buy one on the market and also to lessen expenses. For the container, any small Tupperware will do. Baking soda is also easy to find in the market because it is really common. Lastly, Commercial Cleaning Agent the researchers decided to just use the zonrox because it is common and also not expensive.
Phase II – Formulation of the Product
The Malunggay leaves will be grind into the Mortar using the Pestle to get the extracts of it. After that, the extracts of the Malunggay leaves will be immediately poured in a small container containing the 2 ½ tsp of baking soda as well as 5 tsp. of water. The mixture will be stirred continuously until the baking soda mixed well into the extract of Malunggay leaves.
Phase III – Testing and Evaluation of the Product
The alternative cleaning agent out of Malunggay leaves and the commercial cleaning agent will be used on two different stained area. The cleanliness of the stained area caused by the cleaning agents will be used to evaluate the effectivity of both cleaning agent. Surveys will be handed out to students, family members and acquaintance. The results will be used to determine the effectivity of the malunggay as cleaning agent compared to the commercial one.
