The DC machine has an armature, series and shunt field resistances of 0.03, 0.05 and 70 ohms respectively and is running at a speed of 1800 rpm. Allow 1 V per brush for contact drop and a stray toss of 700 W. Calculate induced voltage and flux per pole, (7 marks) Calculate total losses in the DC machine. (@ marks) Evaluate the electrical, mechanical and commercial efficiencies of the DC machine. (6 marks) Propose the new speed of DC machine, if the flux per pole is reduced by 40 %.
