Universal Design for Learning (UDL): The assignment will address for students with different levels of
learning and students who are ESL. The students with different levels of learning can can make their
podcast as elaborate as they want or as simple, but it has to be at least 3 minutes long. The students who
are ESL can create one with their native language, but they need to provide a transcript of the podcast with
the translation in english. Also, students who have a hearing impairment can create a script for their
podcast and I can record my voice to their script for them.
The information and instructions of the class will take probably the 1/3 of the class. The other ⅔ of the class
will be them working on the their podcast. The students will have that day and a additional day to work on it
to make sure they all have time to record their voices on the same software with editing. At the end of the
second class, I must have their podcast sent to me electronically. The learning will be differentiated because
each student can make it personal to them. I would conclude the assignment by asking them how they felt
about creating the podcast and topic. The feedback on their podcast will be on their rubric once I finished
grading the podcast.

Audio Tools
Importance of technology: The audio tool is critical to the project because it is used to record and edit their
podcast that the student seed to submit. The project can be completed as long they are able to send me the
final product to me electronically. The technology that will be used is the computer and microphone or
headset
Internet Safety and Student Privacy: A couple of issues with internet safety with this project is being exposed
to possible songs that have foul language for the intro and outro of their podcast. The other thing is
researching appropriate sources for their assignment. I would try to limit it by providing them a source with
free music with appropriate language and sounds. I will also provide several sources where they can find
reliable information for their podcast. I would reduce the fears of parents by reassuring the parents that the
podcast will not be shared outside of the classroom. I will also get approvement from the administration on
where the podcast can be uploaded. I would follow the CIPA and FERPA Act to protect the students and myself.
Reflective Practice:
I feel this could be a cool idea for an assignment for students. I believe it can help impact the student learning
especially for students who are afraid of speaking in front of a class, so this can be alternative. This
assignment can be a homework weekly thing for a current event or a unit project assignment. There are other
technology software places to upload the podcast such as youtube or turning it into a video podcast.
