3.Operations management
Operations management (OM) is the business function responsible for managing the
process of creation of goods and services. It involves planning, organizing,
coordinating, and controlling all the resources needed to produce a companys goods
and services.
The transformation role of OM, like in Fabco the transformation of synthetic raw
materials ordered from various vendors gets transformed into the required product
i.e., bags and footwear.
Likewise, in this industry the production of certain products becomes seasonal. For
example, during the times of school opening the demand of school bags increases and
hence the shift of focus to a certain kind of product i.e., school bags
increase.Although, the demand of footwear is not so fluctuated in comparison to the
demand of bags but, during festive seasons the demand of ethnic footwear increases.

Footwear Unit:
The fabco processes bag manufacturing in a workshop. First, cutting and preparing
components, where semi-finished products originate; then, assembling and checking
against quality. If products are good, they are packed and shipped out. Otherwise
corrective actions are triggered to handle error (not modeled).
On daily basis there is production of 100 (+/-) bags and 200-300 footwear.

of all factors involved in production. ISO 9000 defines quality control as "A part
of quality management focused on fulfilling quality requirements".
The packaging of final products is done in the unit of packaging department where
they use to package the products in the box of cardboards and label them as per the
