 Academic Profile (Information and Communication Technologies of the
Universidad Tecnologica del Usumacinta)

In the ICT career you become familiar with technology, learn to use multiple tools for
program development, network management, file editing, creation of e-commerce
sites among other things that are very interesting.

1.- Competences:

During your stay at the University, the students will be training to work in large
companies. The students will be learning to implement software applications for both
mobile phones and computers through programming techniques. In the middle of the
school year, they will be creating e-commerce sites through modernized web
applications such as Sublime Text, which is an advanced code editor and Visual
Studio which helps us to program desktop applications. In the same way, students
will be training to give technical support to different computer equipment and to
manage multimedia editing programs for the creation of user interfaces using
softwares such as Unity, Game Maker Studio and GDevelop.

2.- GENERALS AREAS FOR WORKING

Students who graduate may work in different areas of a company, for example:

 They will be working as support technicians in a company: you will have

to solve the failures that are presented by the computer equipment with which
the company.
 They will be executing tasks of system auditors: you will be responsible
for checking that the operating systems used by the company work correctly
and have their licenses updated.
 They will be creating databases for large stores: you will be responsible
for creating and managing the databases that the company in which you work.
  Even they will be programming web and mobile applications: If you
work in an application development company you will have to program
different softwares that your company requires.

A few years ago students of the Usumacinta University of Technology, after they had
finished their programming classes, they programmed an app to promote health
care.

3. ACTIVITIES AND TASKS (PROGRAMMING DEPARTMENT)

Programming is a very important sector in which you can focus. You can work on
web pages, developing games, creating applications that optimize the activities we
perform in our daily lives and many more options that you can find.

If you want to work as a programmer you will carry out the following activities:

 You will be doing research on the programming language that you will use:
you must learn the syntax of the programming language you are going to use
well.
 you will be doing code testing: you will have to check that the code you are
developing works correctly.
 You will be designing user interfaces with the help of tools for editing and
creating images: you will have to create interfaces for users to interact with
the applications you develop.
 You will be developing mobile or web applications that are easy for the end
user to handle: you must create applications that can be easily used.
4. INTERSHIPS EXPERIENCE

Hello all my name is Pedro Joaquín I am a student of the ICT career at the
Technology University of Usumacinta. In the ICT career we do very amazing things
like the creation of games or electronic commerce pages, we also do network
intalacion, we audit all operating systems in order to prepare for new technologies.

My experience of staying was very pleasant. After i had reviewed several companies,
I made an election, I decided for GEHL in which they placed me in the technical
support area. The first day I was nervous and I went early to the company when I
arrived, my external advisor had already arrived I greeted him and started my work
fast. My job was to monitor a computer center to verify that all equipment worked
correctly.

Before started my work I had taken some technical support courses to remember
some things. The truth I learned a lot I liked the work environment, it really is a very
good experience.
