Immigration Policies Affect Many Children in the U.S

It has come to my attention that recently there has been an uprise in Immigration and

Policies. Many families are being separated which is affecting children and their health. My

sister is a DACA student and all of this uprise led me to wonder what other children are going

through. Especially those children who were separated from their families and are affected by

Immigration Policies. My sister is an extraordinary student and her DACA allows her an

excellent college education. However, not many immigrant children/students are lucky enough to

have the same opportunity, leading to their lives being changed due to Immigration Policies.

Across the country, many children’s lives are being turned upside down because of

Immigration Policies. Many children are being separated from their families. I imagine it’s not

easy being separated from your family and parents at a young age. The lives of these children are

being tossed upside down and Immigration Policies are affecting them in various different ways.

Over the years many children’s lives and health have been altered by Immigration Policies,

however, there has recently been an uprise in the news about children and new Immigration

Policies. All of this recent news about children and families reminded me of my sister and the

opportunity she was given. I am very interested in researching how children’s lives and health

are being affected by Immigration Policies across the country.

I feel frustrated that many children’s lives are being affected by Immigration Policies. I

feel that children’s lives shouldn’t be changed and tossed upside down by these policies. Before

doing research, I think that Immigration Policies are separating too many families. I know that

many opportunities are given to children/students of immigrants, such as DACA, however many

children are still victims of Immigration Policies and have been separated from their parents. I

believe that those children are being stripped of their lives and families. I also believe that this

problem is something that needs to be addressed and considered with proper research. I know

that in the last couple months many children have been separated from their family at the border

and they have not all been reunited. I also know that in the U.S Immigration Policies have

affected immigrant families for many years.

I hope to learn about all the ways that families, especially children, are affected due to

Immigration Policies. I would also like to learn about the current situations caused by

Immigration Policies that are affecting children and their families. I think that most of my

research will be found in recent news and articles describing the current situation of children and

Immigration Policies. Through this research, I hope to learn more about Immigration Policies

and their effect on children and families.
