Bad Sentence

Lighting in portrait photography is crucial for the purpose and creativity of the shot; the

importance of lighting up an individuals shape, body- trying to use the shadows in their favor,

but also using highlights to bring out specific parts to make the model look appealing, as they are

doing this not only for themselves, but because you asked them to help you with perhaps some

sort of project or to use in your portfolio, because a photographer's portfolio is everything to

them, it shows off all of their best work and if the person you are shooting does not like the way

you are controlling the lighting, they may not give you their best modeling, thus ruining your

chance to get a great shot to produce in our portfolio for the whole world to gaze upon and

appreciate a beautiful photograph.

Combining Sentences

-People who embrace their failures as well as explore and learn from them become highly

“Slang Rebels”

Rhetorical Situation

He uses a lot of references and evidence to support his writing, making it more credible.

Although the topic is very laid back and casual the writer found a way to make it sound

more professional. The purpose of his writing is to inform the readers about how

language

changes overtime and that slang that is used today may be used more formally in the

future.

Academic/Technical Writing

The writer introduced his topic and dived straight into the evidence. The information is

credible and supports the main topic throughout the paper. It isn’t super repetitive and has

many different ideas. Some of the sentences are boring and short, it would probably be

better if the writer made the syntax more purposeful and scholarly.

Research Skills

All of the sources in the paper flow with each paragraph and what the writer is saying as

well as being purposeful to the topic. He didn’t include any space filler quotes, he only

added the ones that made the writing seem more interesting and to give it more depth. All

the in-text citations lined up with the works cited page (which was extremely lengthy)

and

he didn’t use the same source throughout his entire paper, he added variety.
