The Legend Of Semarang City

Long time ago, there lived a kingdom of Demak was established in Central Java. The
kingdom was characterized by Islam.

There live a famous king named Raden Made Pandan. He is famous as a scholar and
nobleman. Many people are respectfull and reluctant him. He had a son named Raden
Pandanaran. He was famous as a friendly child, kind, and devoted to his parents.

Then, Raden Made Pandan invited his son and his cortes to leave the Sultan of Demak. He
wanted to spread the religion of Islam in the area of Central java.

Because at the time almost all the peoples in there where religious buddies and peoples who
worshipped the object like tree, kris and so on (Kejawen Culture).
He and his son went west to look for in new area to be occupied. For days on the way, finally
Raden Made Pandan asked to stop and feel suitable with the area that was felt suitable to be
habited.

The forest was opened and established Islamic Boarding School and agricultural land
In the new place Raden Made Pandan tought Islamic education to his followers. Over time
the existence of the place and the boarding school invited many people to came and studied at
the place. In this place Raden Made Pandan felt happy to lived with his son.

He hoped his son would be able to replaced him to be came an Islamic teacher in there place
now.

Before he died, Raden Made Pandan told his son Raden Pandan Aran to continue his hoped.
Raden Pandan Arang was asked not to leave the areabefore he died Raden Made Pandan
was asked to spread Islam in that place and manage agricultural land around the area
His father's will was really noticed by RadenPandanarang. RadenPandanarang became a
religious teacher who delivered the knowledge of Islam to the surrounding community, as
well as managing agricultural land.

From agricultural products there are abundant food crops. With a relatively short amount of
time, many people came to study Islamic religion.

One day Raden Pandanarang worked on the farm with his followers, suddenly something
strange happened.
Among the lush green trees are several acid trees that grow apart from each other. The people
who saw it were also surprised, why in the fertile soil did tamarind trees grow apart from
each other ?

For the sake of seeing the incident Raden Pandanarang said that this area I named Semarang.
Derived from the word Asem which is rare.

Thus the origin of the city of Semarang, which is now a bustling city in Central Java, even
