“RESOLUTION NO. 2011-053

RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING OFFICE TO

PREPARE AN ENGINEERING PLAN FOR THE CONCRETING OF FOOTWALK OF
THE BAKHAWAN ECO-PARK OF KALIBO

WHEREAS, Kalibo Bakhawan Eco-Park located in Barangay New Buswang is considered

tourist destination that needs to be upgraded to attract and draw in more foreign and local tourist in
visiting the said Park;

WHEREAS, according to the Provincial Tourism Office, the Kalibo Bakhawan Eco-Park covering
106 hectares of mangroves has taken its spot as one of the most visited places in this town not only by
locals but also by foreign communities who’s advocacy aligned with reforestation and environment;

WHEREAS, as part of its upgrading, there is a need to concrete the foot walk of the Eco-park to
lure in more tourist, conduct of educational field trips, morning joggers and walkers, senior citizen
friendly, and avoid accidents particularly during heavy outpouring of rains where the existing bamboo
planks are slippery;

WHEREAS, the Municipal Engineering Office has the technical skill and competence in
preparing Engineering Plans and designs including the budgetary requirement needed for the intended
Project of the Municipality;

RESOLVED, as it is hereby RESOLVED, upon motion of Hon. Soviet A. Dela Cruz duly
seconded to request Engr. Emerson S. Lachica to prepare an Engineering Plan for the concreting of
the footwalk at the Bakhawan Eco-Park of Kalibo which shall serve as the basis of the Sangguniang
Bayan of Kalibo to look for funds for its construction;

DONE in the Municipal Hall of the Municipality of Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines this 24th day of
March in the Year of our Lord, 2011.
