ACKNOWLEDMENT
We would like to express our
special thanks of gratitude to
CHANCELLOR SIR (MR. UMESH
GAUTAM) DEAN OF MANAGEMENT
(MR. MANISH GUPTA) AND HEAD OF
department (Mr. dheeraj Gandhi)
teacher ‘(MS.NaSreeN JaVeD’) who
gave us golden opportunity to do
this wonderful project on the
topic water pollution with its
causes and effects among the
citizen with also help us in doing
lot of research at the site
(NAKATIA)BAREILLY UP. And we
came to know about many new
things.
We are really thankful to them.
Secondly I would like to thank
all my team members (Sakshi,
Shivani, Shruti) who helped us a lot
in finishing this project within the
limited time.
We are making this project not only
for marks but to also to increase
our knowledge.
Thanks again to all who
helped us in the completion of
this project.
INTRODUCTION
Water is typically referred to
as polluted when it is impaired by
anthropogenic contaminants. Due
to these contaminants it either
does not support a human use,
such as drinking water, or
undergoes a marked shift in its
ability to support its biotic
communities, such as fish. Natural
phenomena such as volcanoes,
algae blooms, storms, and
earthquakes also cause major
changes in water quality and the
ecological status of water.
Water pollution is a major
global problem. It requires
ongoing evaluation and revision
of water resource policy at all
levels (international down to
individual aquifers and wells).

Objective
* visit nakatia place of pollution.
*effects of this on human beings
and on animals also.
*suggest ways to minimize the
pollution some the major
sources.
* identify the different types of
water pollutants AND THERE
SOURCES.
* UNDERSTAND AND DESCRIBE WHY WE
NEED TO CONTROL WATER POLLUTION
AND CONSERVE WATER.

STUDY AREA
The district of Bareilly lies
betweeN latituDe 28°1’ aND 28°54’
N aND loNgituDe 78°58’ & 79°47’ e
running over a distance of about
60 miles from North to South and
about 47 miles from East to West
and covering an area of apex.
1578 square miles.
The main river of the district, the
Ramganga River, flows from the
west to the south-East,
separating Tehsil Aonla. The
other rivers-the Siddha, the
Dojora, the Bahgul (west), the
Sankha, the Deoranian and the
Nakatia and their tributaries,
which mostly rise in the Tarai,
generally run through the
district in Southern & South-
Eastern direction to join the
Ramganga river.
A number of industries such as J.K
Sugar mills, Coca-cola industry,
Katha factory, Rubber factory,
distilleries, IFFCO etc. are
situated within the 30 km radius
of Bareilly city. They discharge
their effluents (treated &
untreated) into the ground and
the river. This polluted water
leaches down the soil and
contaminate the ground water.
Categories of
water pollution

Groundwater
When rain falls
and seeps deep into the earth,
filling the cracks, crevices, and
porous spaces of an aquifer it
becomes groundwater—one of our
least visible but most important
natural resources.
Surface water
Covering about 70 percent of the
earth, surface water is what
fills our oceans, lakes, rivers,
and all those other blue bits on
the world map Surface water
from freshwater sources (that
is, from sources other than the
ocean)

Ocean water
Eighty percent of ocean
pollution (also called marine
pollution) originates on land—
whether along the coast or far
inland. Contaminants such as
chemicals, nutrients, and heavy
metals are carried from farms,
factories, and cities by streams
and rivers into our bays and
estuaries; from there they
travel out to sea.
Nonpoint source
Nonpoint source pollution is
contamination derived from
diffuse sources. These may
include agricultural or
stormwater runoff or debris
blown into waterways from land.
Nonpoint source pollution is the
leading cause of water pollution
.

Effects
On human health
To put it bluntly: Water pollution
kills. In fact, it caused 1.8 million
deaths in 2015, according to a
study published in The Lancet.
Contaminated water can also
make you ill. Every year, unsafe
water sickens about 1 billion
people. And low-income
communities are
disproportionately at risk
because their homes are often
closest to the most polluting
industries.

On the environment

In order to thrive, healthy

ecosystems rely on a complex
web of animals, plants, bacteria,
and fungi—all of which interact,
directly or indirectly, with each
other. Harm to any of these
organisms can create a chain
effect, imperiling entire aquatic
environments.

Water Pollution
Impacts Everyone
The effects of water pollution
are not always immediate.
They are not always seen at
the point of contamination.
They are sometimes never
known by the person
responsible for the pollution.
However, water pollution has
a huge impact on the lives of
all people. With knowledge,
consideration and
preparation, water pollution
can be decreased. It doesn't
take much effort -- just a
little thought.
Survey report

Problems :People near
Nakatia faces many
problems -*Quality of
drinking water was not
appropriate .
*It causes many
diseases .
*Foul smell makes the
surrounding unhygienic .
Percentage;About 2.5 % of
water out of 70%of total
water is polluted.

Status;Physico-chemical
parameter like
temperature,pH,DO,Free CO2
,TDS,are studied to be found

here. Discharge of
water;The polluted
effluents are
discharged into
RAMNANGA and observed
the change in the
quality of water.

.Conclusion.
areN’t we aware of the different
problems occurring in our
nature, especially in different
bodies of water? Water pollution
is the caused of our undisciplined
actions and irresponsibility. We,
humans are only creating
problems that consequently we
will also carry the burden of
these problems. We all know that
water pollution can affect our
health badly and seriously. It
can cause such sicknesses and
diseases that will badly affect
our health. We all know how
important water is. Water is
essential to our body. Neither we
Nor eVery liViNg thiNg caN’t
survive without water. And so
therefore, we should keep,
protect, save, and help prevent
our waters from being polluted,
we should act as early as now,
we should save rivers, seas and
oceans, and other bodies of
water because we will also bare
the burden of this problem. We
should not wait for the time until
people are competing just to get
sufficient, fresh and clean
water, the time where clean
water is insufficient to the
people and animals, and the time
where in our sources of water
are diminishing or until the time
where there are totally no
sources of water. And so, let us
be disciplined and responsible
enough to save, protect and
conserve not only sources of
water but also our mother
nature because our nature
provides and helps us in our daily

lives .
