(BBA, MBA e-Business and MBA 3 Year-Part Time)

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT


The Department of e-Commerce was established in 2003. Presently the Department is
conducting two courses both at the under-graduate and post-graduate levels. At the
undergraduate level the Department is conducting Bachelor of Business Administration
(BBA) programme of three years duration consisting of six semesters and Master of Business
Administration (MBA) - part time at the post-graduate level. This has been especially
designed to cater to the needs of career advancement for working executives. This
programme is of three years duration consisting of six semesters. Industry exposure through
project work is an integral feature of both the programmes.

LOCATION
The Department is situated in the spacious heritage complex of 'The Hermitage', adjacent to
the University's Administrative Block. Distant from the hubbub of central town and
surrounded by the natural landscape, the Department has an ideal environment conducive to
teaching and learning.

LIBRARY
The Department has its own separate library and reading room. The library is well-stacked
with a variety of titles pertaining to almost all the fields of management. Numerous journals,
magazines and dailies are also available to keep the students updated. In addition to this, the
students can avail the facilities of the University's Central Library which is adjacent to the
Department. Additionally, there is a book-bank scheme, as well.

COMPUTER LAB
The Department has a modern, well equipped, Wi-Fi enabled computer lab (30 computer
systems) with broad-band connectivity.

ACADEMICS
Currently, the Department offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), 03 years, 06
semester full time programme, MBA e-Business, 02 years, 04 semester full time programme
and MBA (3 Year-Part Time), 03 years, 06 semester (Only for executive persons).

SUMMER INTERNSHIP/INDUSTRIAL TRAINING


Summer internship/industrial training is an integral and important part of the curriculum. All
the students are required to undergo 02 months of summer internship after second semester
for MBA e-Business/fourth semester for BBA and MBA Part time. It provides the students an
opportunity to understand the realities of business and corporate world, thereby providing the
platform to relate and to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom to the real world
situation.

PLACEMENTS
The students of Department of e-Commerce have all been placed in the corporate sector. This
has been a big achievement for department since they had come from the semi-urban
background and that is why it was difficult for them to adapt to the cosmopolitan

environment, but the qualities inculcated, during their stay in the Department, have generated
the confidence in them to take the competition head-on.

ATTENDANCE
Due importance is accorded to the attendance of a student. An attendance of 75% in each
subject is compulsory for appearing in the semester examination. In addition to this, it has a
direct bearing on the internal marks.

The fee structure for BBA, MBA (e-Business) and MBA (3 Year-part time) is as follows :

BOOK BANK
Book bank scheme is compulsory for every student and it will be dealt with separately. An
amount of Rs. 5000.00 shall be taken from each student at the start of the course and out of
this Rs. 4500.00 shall be returned at the end of the course. If any book is damaged,
reasonable amount would be deducted from the refundable amount.

UNIFORM DRESS-CODE
A uniform dress code is applicable for the students of the Department. Arrangements for
preparing the dress would be made by the Department and a corresponding charge would be
collected at the start of the course.

ADMISSION
Admission shall be given to a student on the basis of preliminary screening and subsequent
performance in the admission test/GD/PI to be conducted by the Department.
