Question of The Day: Is your History of Film
assignment complete, and in class?
Is it a practical (postcard)) or digital?
What is your innovation/advancement?

15mins Inventory As students are telling you If they’ve completed


their assignment and whether it is practical or
digital, fill it out in duotang

After Inventory

Tell students there is Two things you want them


to do right now

When I say Go….


- Digital people you’re going to come to Mr.D
and check and make sure that your
assignment was sent and we have it! (After
they’ve done that have them go over their
Rubric and give themselves assessment
feedback)
- Practical people you’re going to go over the
rubric and your assignment and give yourself
feedback on your timeline project
- Did you spend time researching
accurate information and go to a
credible website? or did you just make
stuff up?
- Can I look at your project and tell right
away what the
advancement/innovation is?
- Does your advancement/innovation
have a clear significant impact on the
film industry?
- Did you include all the the required
elements on your postcard? An image
of your innovation or movie poster
with a brief description as well as 2-3
sentences describing how your
innovation impacted the future of the
film industry
Remind students what each letter stands for
Excellent = New Best
Proficient = Best from this Year
Satisfactory = Got it done
ED = Haven’t gotten it done, still working on it
In pencil give yourself a self-assessment

GO!

After Digital people see Mr.D send them to do their


self-assessment as well

During this time have students that haven’t


finished go to back table by piano and start
working
Ask them where they’re at
- Do they understand what they need to do?
- Was it unorganization?
- Do they have their
innovation/advancement and they just
haven’t completed their postcard?
- Do they know how their
innovation/advancement impacted the
Film Industry?
- To prompt them possibly have them look for
First…… in their year

10mins Peer Share Chunk #2


Call students attention with Bell

Have students still in the circle turn and make a


company of 3 (Campfire circle style)
- Have them do a Peer Share and give each
other 1 star about their timeline project or 1
question
- The images they included on their postcard
and or video or how they chose to design
their video and or postcard
- Why they choose the innovation they did

Call students attention with the bell


- Have students nominate someone from
their campfire company of 3 to share their
History of Film Timeline project
- Have the video people share their videos

Tell students sharing to


- Tell us the year they got
- Tell us the innovation/advancement they
have chosen
- Tell us the impact the
innovation/advancement had on the Film
Industry

2 mins Closure - When everyone that was nominated has


gone and all the video people have gone.
Have students hand in their Rubric and
Assignment to you
- *Double check that their name is on
it*
- When you have everyone’s have them turn
their attention to Mr.D ​to introduce their
new assignment
