Week 1

Warm up – Stuck in the Mud


Instructions 1. Students run around grid, half with a ball
and the other half without
2. 2-3 students are ‘IT’, if any students get
tagged they have to stop and stand with
their feet apart.
3. Tagged players can be released if a student
with the ball rolls it through their legs.
4. Swap roles; taggers and students with the
balls become students without the ball.

- Tag, then pass and pass back

1. Students get into pairs
Instructions 2. One partner holds the ball out in front of them
3. One partner holds their hands next to their side
4. The partner with the ball drops it while the other
attempts to catch it

1. Students split into group of 3s
Instructions 2. They set up a triangle in the marked
grids
3. Pass ball around triangle using correct
technique
- Move to a square

ball of one defender
2. Move around square
3. Swap after 1 minute

Activity 3 – 2 on 1 touchdown

1. In groups of 3, 2 offense and 1
Instructions defence
2. 2 offensive players start at end of grid
3. 1 defensive player starts in middle of
grid
4. Offensive players aim to score a try,
by drawing the defender and
pass/run to the try line
5. Defender attempts to tag players or
intercept the ball

5. Offensive players try get a try
6. Defensive player attempts to touch
