ESTUDIO DE LA INFLUENCIA DEL MÉTODO DE SÍNTESIS EN LAS PROPIEDADES
CATALÍTICAS DEL ORO SOPORTADO EN LA ACTIVACIÓN DEL GLICEROL
ABSTRACT
This article present the study of the influence of the synthesis method of catalysts with active gold phase on
the catalytic properties of the system supported in the reaction of oxidation of glycerol, showing additionally
as the nature of support used in the catalyst and some condition in the reaction can affect the activity of the
catalytic system, with the objective of optimize the glycerol oxidation process for heterogeneous catalysis.
For this study, initially performed a thermodynamic analysis of the glycerol oxidation, later they were chosen
the preparation methods for compare, selecting the deposition method, the dry double impregnation method
and direct anion exchange, also a single catalyst with the same support was selected to make the comparisons,
this support was cerium oxide (CeO2); and comparisons were also made for a single method but with
different supports, these catalysts were 1%Au/Al2 O3 , 1%Au/Ce2 Zr1.5 Co0.5 O8 and 2%Au/T iO2 ; to make the
comparisons catalytic tests were carried out for the oxidation of glycerol. From the comparison it was found
that the preparation methods of catalyst does not greatly affect the conversion rate, all three methods present a
conversion between 30 and 40%, however, the selectivity in the oxidative process if it is affected by the
method of preparation; also it was concluded that the catalyst with the best results of oxidation was
2%Au/T iO2 with a conversion of 70.9% and as regards the reaction conditions it was observed that the
presence of soda in the medium accelerates the reaction rate and that the increase in reaction temperature
favors the conversion rate.
