This report consists of the project activities undertaken by me under ANNADA.

It also consists of different challenges faced during the NGO internship and learnings derived
from that experience.

INTRODUCTION
ANNADA is a social enterprise of The Planet Group, aimed at catalysing Sustainable Development
Goal of ‘Zero Hunger’ through innovative food solutions, community engagements, sustainable
partnerships, and technology integrations. It is a social enterprise formed with the vision to realize
the ‘Hunger Free’ India and is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal of ZERO Hunger. They
are committed to the cause of eradicating Hunger and Malnutrition across tribal, rural and urban
communities.

They provide safe, micro-nutrient fortified nutrition to children and mothers and an array of
community based interventions that focus on capacity building though training of front-line workers,
awareness sessions for caregivers and other stakeholders, periodic impact assessments across scale
and geographies through High Impact Comprehensive Health and Nutrition Programs.

Realising 'the hunger free India'.

Mission
Impact one million lives by 2025 through safe and sustainable mass-feeding solutions.

“The activities undertaken by us was to do a CSR survey on companies to understand the trends and
how the corporate world works towards society.”

STUDENT PROJECT ACTIVITIES

Area: Nariman Point

Project objectives:

 To understand CSR project requirements.


 To understand the needs and expectations from NGO’s and CSR implementation
agencies.
 To understand what CSR and NGO agencies could do better

Activities undertaken:
Locating the companies present in the given area followed by visiting them and taking an
appointment for a meeting to get the survey done.

Outcomes:
 Proper understanding of how corporates work towards social cause and the
importance of CSR in corporate world.
 Understanding how critical the corporates are when it comes to selecting a partner for
CSR activities implementation.
 Understanding that there are many who are interested in doing CSR activities even
though they do not comply under the CSR Act 2013.

Recommendations: Should always look ahead for improvements in the avenues


untouched.

Learnings:
 Understanding how corporates work towards social cause and the importance of CSR
in corporate world.
 Applying marketing skills into practical world to convince and convert leads.

Challenges

 Finding and convincing companies to cooperate with the CSR survey.


 Identifying companies who would qualify for CSR and overlooking the rest.
 Finding the correct approach at the time of pitching the companies.
 Identifying the areas which is a corporate hub.

Conclusion: Overall a very good learning experience with new areas to explore and adapt
to new challenges.

SUMMARY

Project objectives:

 To understand your CSR project requirements.


 To understand the needs and expectations from NGO’s and CSR implementation
agencies.
 To understand what CSR and NGO agencies could do better.

Activities undertaken:

Locating the companies present in the given area followed by visiting them and taking an
appointment for a meeting to get the survey done.

Learnings:

 The only way out for being successful is “PERSISTANCE”.


 The acceptance of failure.
 How hard is the life travelling in local trains and buses.
 The way of communicating and dressing in the corporate world.
 The understanding of the working of the corporate world.
 The need of CSR and the alarming condition of the malnourishment in our country.
 Sales and manipulation of words.
 Communication
 Manipulation.
 Tackle negative responses.
 Sales.

Challenges:

 Commuting in local trains and buses.


 Locating the companies.
 Convincing the guards to allow us to enter into the office premises.
 Encouraging the companies to do CSR activities and making them understand why the
survey is important and how their feedback can change one’s life for a lifetime.
 Persuading the officials to fill our questionnaire.
 To meet CSR head of different companies.
 To convince security guards and receptionist.
