1. What do you think are the biggest strength of Pinakamasarap Corp.?

ANSWER:
The biggest strength of Pinakamasarap Corporation.
First is their product itself. The quality of the product they produced create good
impressions and gathered good feedbacks from their customers making them a fast
growing company and market leader. The color, texture and aroma of their product also
satisfied their customers.
Second, they established also a good name that giving them the capability to lock up
the supply of raw materials proven in year 1950s and 1960s.
Third, is their strong advertising presence making their commercial a viral hit in 1978.

2. In your own opinion, is it still possible for Pinakamasarap Corp. to eventually


regain their leadership position? Why or why not?
ANSWER:
Yes realistically there is still possibility for Pinakamasarap to regain its leadership. For
me there is still a possibility, the quality of their product is still the same which satisfies
many. Though it still needs a lot of hardworking to do since there are other companies
dominating the market now. But like the scenario from previous years wherein
Pinakamasarap is dominant who ever thought that they eventually drop down, we can
also never tell what will happen in the future if the two dominating companies will still be
on top or maybe they will also encounter challenges (competitors must not be
complacent) that might open the way for Pinakamasarap Corp. to regain their market
share and be the no. brand in the said industry. Pinakamasarap Corp. must be
consistent in developing their products and make sure that if the opportunity knocks
again they are well equipped and ready to regain and sustain their market share.

3. Do you believe that aggressive advertising will be necessary to get the Marca
Pina brand of soy sauce back to a position of leadership? Why or Why not?
ANSWER:
Yes, aggressive advertising will be necessary to get the Marca Pina brand of soy sauce
back to a position of leadership. We all know that good advertising is a big help in the
success of a company. It can create awareness and curiosity to the viewers that may
lead them to try and purchased a product. Marca Pina lost its leadership and it is very
important that the customers must be aware that there are back in the market and still
has the same good quality product that satisfies many. They can highlight the quality of
the products and there difference from other brand. Price and places where customers
can find their products. Making customers try their product and satisfying them will help
them spread the news and might also be able to get the same good impressions and
feedbacks like before from customers transferring that information to those who are not
yet trying Marca Pina.

4. If you were the CEO of Marca Pina Corp. what strategy would you recommend
that would give the company its best chance of regaining market leadership?
Explain your step by step strategy.
ANSWER:
If I were the CEO of Marca Pina Corp. I will suggest that aside from making sure that we
are producing a quality product we will focus on the marketing strategy of the company
using the bottoms up approach. Wherein we will start the demand from the household
or end consumers.
First, to create advertisement in different channels. For example, Commercial
advertisement to tap and create awareness to those households who uses soy sauce
for cooking. For market areas, we can conduct random sampling for the customers in
the market to try Marca Pina and dress up stores (providing posters and banners) in the
market that is selling Marca Pina. Advertise also through partnership in carinderia that
uses Marca Pina soy sauce. We can also offer special packages for them to use our
product like special discounts and freebies. Freebies, that can also serve as
advertisement materials like table cloths and aprons which will let every customers
know that the carinderia is using Marca Pina soy sauce.
Second, to create promo bundles and tie ups that includes Marca Pina to encourage
customer to re-purchase. Random sampling to supermarket and groceries will also do.
Creating an impact in the market and households will increase sales of Marca Pina.
Households may start looking for Marca Pina at the sari-sari stores and when that
happen Sari-sari stores owners will start to sell it and look for it in the market. If the
demand in the market will start to increase its supply might not be enough creating
another demand in the groceries and supermarkets. By then, Marca pina will have its
channel expansion and start to compete with other brands.
