2 Removal of the Hydrocarbon Fuel Doser Injector Valve Fuel Supply


Line

Remove as follows:
1. Shut off engine and apply the parking brake, chock the wheels, and perform any other applicable safety steps.
2. Open the hood.

CAUTION: ELECTRICAL SHOCK


To avoid injury from electrical shock, use care when connecting battery cables. The magnetic
switch studs are at battery voltage.

3. Disconnect the batteries.


4. Remove the protection cover (1) for the Hydrocarbon (HC) fuel doser injector valve.

5. Disconnect the HC fuel doser injector valve fuel supply line (1) from the HC fuel doser injector valve. Hold the HC
fuel doser injector valve with a wrench when loosening the line fitting.

6. Remove the two p-clip bolts securing the HC fuel doser injector valve fuel supply line to the flywheel housing.
7. Remove the clamp securing the HC fuel doser injector valve fuel supply line to the HC doser valve coolant inlet line.
8. Disconnect the HC fuel doser injector valve fuel supply line (6) from the HC fuel doser block assembly.

9. Remove the HC Fuel Doser Injector Valve Fuel Supply Line.

3 Inspection of the Hydrocarbon Fuel Doser Injector Valve Fuel Supply


Line

Inspect as follows:
1. Inspect the Hydrocarbon (HC) Fuel Doser Injector Valve Fuel Supply Line for a bent or cracked line. Replace as
needed.
2. Inspect the HC fuel doser Injector Valve Fuel Supply Line for blockages. Flush the line if needed.

4 Installation of the Hydrocarbon Fuel Doser Injector Valve Fuel Supply


Line

Install as follows:
1. Connect the Hydrocarbon (HC) fuel doser injector valve fuel supply line (6) to the HC fuel doser block assembly.
Torque the fuel line to 22 N·m (17 lb·ft).

2. Install the two p-clip bolts securing HC fuel doser injector valve fuel supply line to the flywheel housing. Torque bolts
to 25 N·m (18 lb·ft).
3. Install the clamp securing HC fuel doser injector valve fuel supply line to the HC doser valve coolant inlet line.
Torque bolt to 6 N·m (4 lb·ft).
4. Connect the HC fuel doser injector valve fuel supply line (1) to the HC fuel doser injector valve. Hold the HC fuel
doser injector valve with a wrench when tightening the line fitting. Torque supply line fitting to 18 N·m (13 lb·ft).

5. Install the protection cover (1) and torque bolts to 10 N·m (7 lb·ft).

CAUTION: ELECTRICAL SHOCK

6. Connect the batteries.


7. Close the hood.

WARNING: ENGINE EXHAUST


To avoid injury from inhaling engine exhaust, always operate the engine in a well-ventilated area.
Engine exhaust is toxic.

WARNING: PERSONAL INJURY


To avoid injury before starting and running the engine, ensure the vehicle is parked on a level
surface, parking brake is set, and the wheels are blocked.

8. Start the engine.


9. Use the HC fuel doser command to run the purge function in DiagnosticLink® to purge all of the air from the HC
doser injector valve and line.
10. Check for any leaks.
