Semi - Detailed Lesson Plan in English 1

III. Procedures
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Warm – Up Song
2. Recall the past lesson
3. Motivation
Introduce “Prepositional Pantomime game” using in, on and under.
Ask the pupils to form a big circle. Show them an actual box. Demonstrate
getting IN the box, ON the box and UNDER the box. Teacher will get rid of
the box and pantomime the same actions. The teacher will call out a
prepositional phrase and the pupils must race to perform the correct
action.

Ask: What are the things to remember while doing the group activity?
Perform the game.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Presentation
Show a stuff toy, ball, book, notebook etc. Have the pupils name each
object being shown to them.
Let them read these sentences:
1. The ball is the table.
2. The stuff toy is the table.
3. The notebook is the table.
4. The book is the table.

2. Discussion
Ask them what is wrong with the sentence.
Using a table, put the book, ball, notebook and others on, in and under
the table.
Let them recall what is being shown to them at the start of the lesson for
them to decide what word should be added to the sentence to make it clearer.
Invite a learner to come to the board and rewrite the correct sentence.
(The boy is under the table) etc
Show more incomplete sentences and pictures using in and on
preposition.
Ask them to write the correct sentence on the board.

3. Fixing Skills
Divide the class into three groups.
Setting of Standards

Group 1 – Match Me!


Directions: Match the incomplete sentence with its correct
preposition to make the sentence correct.

Group 2 – Complete Me!


Directions: Fill in the blanks with the correct prepositions to make
the sentence correct.
Group 3 – Look at Me, Where Am I?
Directions: Study the picture then write a sentence about it using
the correct preposition.

Give them15 minutes to do the activity assigned to them.

Presentation of Outputs/Reporting
Let the assigned member per group to report.
Give them enough time to express their thoughts.
Infusion of Value
Check their out puts. Praise them for a job well done, and then
give the reward to the group who gets the highest score.

4. Generalization
Ask: When do we use in? on? under?
Let the learners give their own generalization in a simple way.

5. Application:
Study the picture. Write in, on or under on the blank.
