I got to placement and the children arrived a little after.

The children arrived at

8:05 today and they got their snow stuff off and put their belongings in
their cubbies. After the children got settled, they all started their morning word
work. The children did this for about 10-15 minutes. The second bus arrived at
8:30 and they started to do their morning word work. After the children were
done with this, they went to free time and chose centers. The children played
until breakfast was served. We ate breakfast at 9:30 and went till about 10. After
breakfast, the children went to circle time and we went over the days of the week
and what month it is, and the weather, if it's sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc. We also
read a book and a child gets to pick the book that they want to hear. After this,
the children got ready to go outside, and I helped the children get ready.
The children went outside from 10:30 to 11:00. The children then came back
inside and did music and movement and then I got ready to leave.
I observed the children doing music and movement with the mentor. The
children really enjoyed doing this activity with the mentor because they love to
move around and dance with their friends. The children got to choose what song
they want to dance too, and they dance. I think they should do this every day
with the children because it is a good way for the children to get their energy out
if they aren't able to go outside due to the weather. The mentor should do
morning meeting/circle, and then do the music and movement and then large
group so the children aren't sitting too long and lose focus.

I was involved with catching the children upon their activities and projects that
they missed for those who were absent. I like catching the children upon their
projects that they miss because it's a little bit of everything from the week that
they did. I love doing projects with the children because they love to sit down and
make projects and just have fun. The children love to sit down and make projects
and every project that they do, they love it and it's appropriate for all of their
ages in the classroom. I wouldn't change anything about how they do and plan
the projects.

This applies to my teaching practice because when I am a teacher someday, I

want to know how to go about doing lessons with the children and making sure
that the projects that I plan are age appropriate for all of the children. I know how
to go about handling projects with the children in small and large groups from all
of the practice that I have been doing.
