details of the text.

Activity Description of Activities and Setting Time


“Today we are going to start by working together to make a list of 5
things that go together.” Teacher will show students the chart paper mins
with the words​ swings and slide.​ “What other words might fit in
this group?” Students will help teacher to complete the list. “Now

Teacher will pull up the main topic circle maps under the document
camera and ask class to help create a title or the main topic of each
4. Guided Practice circle map. Have students name the items in the map and then come
up with the title.

Students will be broken into groups with mystery bags to determine


the main topic of their mystery bag. Each bag will have pictures of
a topic and students will need to work together to figure out what
they could title their mystery bag. Once you have given 5 minutes
for students to think of an idea you will bring the class back
together to look at the contents in each bag and create titles.
Teacher will write the title the students come up with in the graphic
organizer.
5. Independent Practice
“I would like for you to take the pictures out of your mystery bag
and spread them out on your table. I am giving you 5 minutes to
talk with your partner about what you could title the bag. When the
5 minutes is up you will need to bring me the mystery bags and
come up and share with the class the title you gave your bag.”
