January 7, 2019 for 2  I was the  The thing that went well today was the deliberation

successful in working towards my final products and

January 15, 2019 for  Student Leadership  Today, we had a SLB meeting. In these meetings we 

2 hours  Board meeting for  discuss the future of Teen Court and evaluate what 
teen court it was  changes need to be made for Teen Court. To be a 
held at the lone tree  member of the board you have to be elected by the 
municipal building  Teen Court members and approved by the City of 
Lone Tree. The meeting was primarily focused on a 
service project that is being planned for this summer. 
The primary focus of the project is to educate the 
community on crimes/laws that they may be unaware 
of. The thing that went well today was laying out a 
plan of we will complete the tasks at hand. The most 
challenging thing was narrowing down the many 
service project ideas we had. The main thing I 
learned today was how the vast amount of people 
that are unaware of the many laws that impact them 
everyday. This helped to give me a further 
understanding of why my topic is not only important 
for my growth, but the community’s as well. 

March 12, 2019 for 2  Student Leadership  Today, we had another SLB meeting. The purpose of

hours  Board meeting for  this meeting was to finalize the details for the service 

Teen Court   project further. My role in the service project will be 
  educating the community on curfew laws as well as 
the seat belt laws. These laws frequently affect teens 
in the community. What went well today was 
researching about laws that affect teens. This is 
something I may want to mention at some point 
during my presentation if I get the opportunity. The 
most challenging thing from today was 
comprehending the complex language used in law 
statutes. This is helpful practice for researching for 
my project because a similar degree of language will 
likely be used. The main thing I took away from today 
was how necessary it is to educate the community 
on how laws affect them. Overall, I think today was 
valuable for my presentation research. It helped to 
reassure me that my overall topic is relevant to the 
community and I continued to learn about my topic. 

March 21, 2019 for 2  Panel Member for  Today I was a panel member for a case hearing 

hours  hearing a  involving shoplifting. The thing that was most 
shoplifting case  interesting about the case was the motivation behind 
the crime. The respondents main motivation was well 
intentioned, they just went about it the wrong way. 
Their motivation was a easter gift for their parents. 
While it is admirable gesture, ultimately it was still a 
crime. The thing that went well today was the 
questioning of the respondent. Many important 
questions were asked to extract information about 
the event that occured. The most difficult thing today 
was the deliberation. The panel was divided as this 
was a rather unusual case. It was challenging to 
reach a decision, but eventually there was a 
consensus. The biggest thing I learned was how 
different motivation for a crime can be. Crimes are 
not always ill­intentioned. This will be important to my 
presentation as a possible example of reasoning that 
people commit crimes for.

March 29,2019 for 2  Further research for  Today I focused on putting together what I have 

hours  presentation and  learned into my culminating senior project. Further 
planning of  research had to be done in regards to my topic. The 
presentation  thing that went well today was the crafting of my 
project. I feel that it accurately reflects the work I put 
in and will provide the audience with a strong 
understanding of my topic. The most difficult aspect 
was narrowing down the information for my 
presentation so I can include everything. The 
research I found was difficult to comprehend but will 
prove to be helpful in explaining what I have learned. 
Overall I feel today was the last stepping stone in 
preparation for my senior presentation and will 
ultimately allow me to give the best presentation 
possible.
