Landings

Landings are very important safety skills to learn to help prevent injuries.

3 Landings include:
1. Landing on feet
2. Landing on hands
3. Landings sideways
4. Landing backwards

Teaching Progressions
- Start from squat and slowly fall just to shoulders
- Roll to shoulders and turn head to one side to watch knees touch the mat.
Try on both sides
- Use an incline mat
- Attempt from a squat
- Start from jump

Safety
• Use adequate mats
• Limit use of landing on wrists
• Don’t land sideways from a certain height
• Do not progress to heights unless ready
