II. Systems
A. Clans and Bloodlines
1. Bloodline Cost
a. Bloodlines do not cost Merit Points. Instead, they cost 2x
Merit Cost in Intial XP.
2. Giovanni are considered a Bloodline of the Cappadocian Clan.
a. Premascine is the default for Giovanni.
b. Considered a 4 point merit to determine cost.
B. Skills
1. Intrigue replaces Computers
2. Ride replaces Drive
3. Lore has a standardized difficulty rating assigned from the chart in
MES:VTM on page 272. If a character’s lore pool is equal to or
higher than the difficulty rating listed they know the piece of
knowledge with the following clarifications.
a. Possessing a Lore Specialization grants a +5 Wild Card.
b. A character, regardless of Lore Pool total, may only possess
Challenging (level 4), and, Epic (level 5) knowledge if they
possess a specialization in the appropriate lore.
C. Backgrounds
1. Herd - For every level of the Herd background above 1, it reduces
the difficulty of feeding with Beast Traits by 1.
a. Levels of herd can be shared or loaned in downtime, but
any level shared is not available for the player who granted
access until the next downtime.
D. Disciplines
1. Spirit’s Touch - The line “Characters using any level of Obfuscate
who handle an object or visit a location do not leave psychic
impressions.” is omitted.
2. Mental/Social Disciplines whose test pools say “vs. Physical +
Dodge” have been changed to be “vs. Physical + Willpower”.
3. Celerity Techniques do not affect Initiative.
4. Path of Technomancy - Not Sanctioned for Play
5. The following Rituals are not Sanctioned for Play

E. Merits and Flaws
1. Clan-Based Merits
a. Angellic Visage - Grants the Appearance Focus instead of
Charisma.
b. Ghostly Retainer - Available to all Cappadocian characters.
c. Walk the Abyss - Abyss Mystics take no damage from this
merit.
2. Thaumaturgical / Necromantic Expertise
a. Any Non-Tremere character with thaumaturgy may
purchase Thaumaturgical Expertise at 2x Merit Cost.
b. Any Non-Cappadocian character with necromancy may
purchase Necromantic Expertise at 2x Merit Cost.
c. Paths learned through this method are always considered
Out-of-Clan for purposes of XP expenditures

F. Status
1. Acknowledgement
a. Acknowledged - As there are no sects, being acknowledged
in one city confers no benefit when traveling to a different
city. Until Acknowledged by the Praxis holder, a kindred is
a non-entity and under the jurisdiction of the Hound.
b. Recognized - A character recognized may reside in a city
and is under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff, but may not gain
abiding or fleeting status, nor gain the benefits of such until
acknowledged.
2. Abiding Status
a. Luminary Elders of High Clans gain the Abiding Status
traits Confirmed, Established, Privileged, and Prominent.
b. Luminary Elders of Low Clans gain the Abiding Status
traits Confirmed, Established, Privileged.
c. Master Elders gain the Abiding Status traits Confirmed,
Established, and Privileged.
d. Pretender Elders gain the abiding status traits Confirmed,
Established.
e. Ancillae gain the abiding status trait Confirmed.
3. Status Bans
a. A character with no prestation on record is subject to a
minor status ban.
b. A character with no feeding territory is subject to a minor
status ban.
c. A neonate character that has no patron is subject to a minor
status ban.
d. A character known to have sired a thin-blood or caitiff is
under a major status ban.
e. A character who is a thin-blood or caitiff is under a major
status ban.
4. Court Positions
a. Prince - Gains the status traits Authority, Commander,
Sovereign, Ominous
b. Seneschal - Gains the status traits Noble, Established
c. Herald - Gains the status traits Prominent, Noble
d. Keeper of Elysium - Gains the status traits Enforcer and
Guardian
e. Sheriff - Gains the status traits Enforcer, Privileged,
Blessed
f. Hound - Gains the status traits Enforcer

G. Other Systems
1. Diablerie - You gain the benefits as per Sabbat Rules, but also gain
the Soul Shard flaw for a year and a day.
2. Beast Traits
a. Testing Down - Upon gaining Beast Traits, the test pool to
test down the gained traits is Mental + Willpower vs. Base
15 + # of Beast Traits
b. Degradation - Beast Traits are lost at a rate of 1 per month.
c. Feeding with Beast Traits increases the difficulty by 1.
* A character with no beast traits is able to feed safely
with 1 level of herd.
* A character with 1 beast trait needs 2 or more levels
of herd.
* If a character attempts to feed with inadequate herd
traits, they may gain the Hunted flaw until their
beast traits are at a level they can safely feed once
more.
