INTRODUCTION
Graphics are visual images
or designs on some surface, such
as a wall, canvas, screen, paper,
or stone to inform, illustrate, or
entertain. In contemporary usage,
it includesa pictorial representation
of data.

COMPUTER GRAPHICS
When it comes to computer graphics
there are two main defined categories

1. RASTER GRAPHICS

2. VECTOR GRAPHICS
In raster graphics , each pixel is separetly defined like we see
in a digital photograph whereas in the vector graphics, where
mathematical formulas are used to draw lines and shapes,
which are then interpreted at the viewer's end to produce
the graphic. Using vectors results in infinitely sharp graphics
and oftensmaller files, but, when complex, like vectors take
time to render and may have larger file sizes
than a raster equivalent.
when we study designing the graphics we came to know about
these kinds of stuff .modern computers uses graphical user
interface (GUI) in the the functioning of the device is
represented in graphical way like using different shapes or
color for different functions.

SOFTWARES
Here are some of the widely used graphics
oriented computer softwares:

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CC

Widely popular and mostly used raster based

software which takes the raster graphics to the
next level to create visually stunning outputs.
It's an industry level software which is used by
professional all over the world.

ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CC
If Photoshop is first choice of the
professionals for their raster based
high-end projects then Adobe
illustrator comes straight away in
the vector graphics works. Creates
cutting-edge designs and handles
the shapes and colors very well with a
great touch of 3D graphics
it's the choice of many graphics
designers.

ADOBE InDESIGN CC

Coming from The Adobe Creative

Cloud , InDesign is used by
creative professionals to design
printed or electrical publication.
Much like it's predecessors Quark
Express and Pagemaker, InDesign
offers an interface that allows you
to easily template and develop an
aplication from the ground up.

DESIGNING
AS A
PROFESSION Most of the times graphic designers
are given a brief by a client, which
expresses what issue needs to be
addressed and a specific outcome
should be achieved. The challenge
is to collect data and evaluate it to
figure out with the best possible
solution which can be conveyed via
an image or design. The success of a
good design is determined not just
by how attractive the design looks,
but also it should convey the
message to the target audience.

Requirements
A graphic designer should have expertise in
Lay outing
Typography
Diagramming
Drawing and Lettering

They should also have a strong sense of aesthetics to know the

correct selection of colors, artwork, photography, and other visual
elements for the design. Graphic designers use an eclectic variety
of visual channels to communicate messages via shapes, fonts and
colors on print design, websites and social media. A good graphic
designer possesses strong interpersonal and marketing skills, in
addition to an eye for details and strong knowledge of graphic
design applications.

Graphic Designers have a wide scope in almost every

sector. Graphic designers can opt and work for a profile such as :

Design professional
Brand identity designer
Logo designer
Layout artist
Artists
Creative directors
Design Consultants
Magazine Layout Editors etc.

In addition to these career prospects, one can also pursue their

career as a graphic designer in design studio, advertising agencies,
print industry, web designing firms, educational institutes,
manufacturers, marketing firms, and publishers. As per Bureau of
Labor Statistic's report, “the graphic design field
is expected to grow by 5 percent through 2026”.

PHOT GRAPHY

Photography is the art, application and practice of

creating durable images by recording light or other
electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means
of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a
light-sensitive material such as photographic film.
It is employed in many fields of science,
manufacturing (e.g., photolithography),
and business, as well as its more direct uses
for art, film and video production, recreational
purposes, hobby, and mass communication

Amateur Photographer

An amateur photographer is one who practices photography as a

hobby/passion and not necessarily for profit. The quality of some
amateur work is comparable to that of many professionals and may
be highly specialized or eclectic in choice of subjects. Amateur
photography is often pre-eminent in photographic subjects which
have little prospect of commercial use or reward. Amateur
photography grew during the late 19th century due to the
popularization of the hand-held camera. Nowadays it has spread
widely through social media and is carried out throughout different
platforms and equipment, switching to the use of cell phone. Good
pictures can now be taken with a cell phone which is a key tool for
making photography more accessible to everyone.

Commercial Photographer

Commercial photography is probably best defined as any photography

for which the photographer is paid for images rather than works of
art. In this light, money could be paid for the subject of the photograph
or the photograph itself. Wholesale, retail, and professional uses of
photography would fall under this definition. The commercial
photographic world could include:
Advertising Photography
Fashion and Glamour Photography
Concert Photography
Crime Scene Photography
Still Life Photography
Editorial Photography
Portrait and Wedding Photography
Landscape Photography
Wildlife Photography
Paparazzi

<CODEADDICT>

Coding is basically the computer language

used to develop apps, websites and software.
Without it, we’d have none of the major technology
we’ve come to rely on such as Facebook, our
smartphones, the browser we choose to
view our favorite blogs or even the blogs
themselves. It all runs on code.

Volume 1 Issue 1
Page 23
Artistry Optical Dynamism
CODING
Coding is what makes it possible for us to create
computer software, apps and websites.Your browser, your OS,
the apps on your phone, Facebook, and this website – they ’re
all made with code.

L e a r n i n g coding has many benefits – whether

y o u’ r e l o o k i n g f o r a c a r e e r i n t h e i n d u s t r y, s t a r t i n g a n e w
h o b b y o r j u s t w a n t i n g t o u n d e r s t a n d t e c h n o l o g y.

To put it very simply, the code is what tells your computer what to
do. To go a bit deeper, computers don’t understand words. They only
understand the concepts of on and off. The capabilities of a computer
are guided by on and off switches or transistors. Binary code
represents these on and off transistors as the digits 1 and 0. An
infinite number of combinations of these codes make your computer
work. In order to make binary code manageable, computer
programming languages were formed. These languages each serve
different purposes, but they all allow programmers to translate
important commands into binary code.

WEB DESIGNING
Web design is a process of creation, with the intention of
presenting the content on electronic web pages, which the end-
users can access through the internet with the help of a web
browser.

Elements of Web Design

Web design uses many of the same key visual elements as all types
of design such as:

Layout:-

This is the way the graphics, ads and text are arranged. In
the web world, a key goal is to help the view find the information
they seek at a glance. This includes maintaining the balance,
consistency, and integrity of the design.

Colour:-

The choice of colours depends on the purpose and clientele; it could

be simple black-and-white to multi-coloured design, conveying the
personality of a person or the brand of an organization, using web-
safe colours.

Volume 1 Issue 1
Page 25
Graphics:-

Graphics can include logos, photos,

clipart or icons, all of which enhance the web
design. For user friendliness, these need to be
placed appropriately, working with the colour
and content of the web page, while not making
it too congested or slow to load.

Fonts:-

The use of various fonts can enhance a website design. Most web
browsers can only read a select number of fonts, known as "web-safe
fonts", so your designer will generally work within this widely accepted
group

Content:-

Content and design can work together to enhance the

message of the site through visualsand text. Written text should
always be relevant and useful, so as not to confuse the reader and to
give them what they want so they will remain on the site. Content
should be optimized for search engines and be of a suitable length,
incorporating relevant keywords.

WHAT IS 3D ?
3D means three-dimensional, i.e. something that has width, height
and depth (length). Our physical environment is three-dimensional
and we move around in 3D every day.
Humans are able to perceive the spatial
relationship between objects just by looking
at them because we have 3D perception,
also known as depth perception. As we
look around, the retina in each eye forms
a two - dimensional image of our
surroundings and our brain processes
these two images into a 3D visual
experience.

Three-dimensional space
3D computer graphics , computer graphics that use a three-
dimensional representation of geometric data.
3D film, a motion picture that gives the illusion of depth perception.
3D modeling , developing a mathematical representation of any
three-dimensional surface or object.
3D projection, the method of mapping three-dimensional points
to a two-dimensional plane.
3D rendering, the process of producing an image based on three-
dimensional data stored within a computer.
3D scanning, making a digital representation of three-dimensional
objects.
3D video game, featuring 3D game graphics, which are computed
in three directional dimensions.
Stereoscopy, any technique capable of recording three-dimensional
visual information or creating the illusion of depth in an image.

3D COMPUTER
GRAPHICS
3D computer graphics (in contrast to 2D computer graphics), are
graphics that use a three-dimensional representation of geometric
data that is stored in the computer for the purposes of performing
calculations and rendering 2D images. Such images may be stored
for viewing later or displayed in real-time.

3D computer graphics rely on many of the

same algorithms as 2D computer vector
graphics in the wire-frame model and 2D
computer raster graphics in the final
rendered display. In computer graphics
software, 2D applications may use 3D
techniques to achieve effects such as
lighting, and 3D may use 2D rendering
techniques.

3D Computer Graphics creation falls into three basic phases:

3D Modeling – the process of forming a computer model of an
object's shape.
Layout and Animation – the placement and movement of objects
within a scene.
3D Rendering – the computer calculations that, based on light
placement, surface types, and other qualities,
generate the image.

Animation
It is the process of generating three-dimensional moving images
in a digital environment. Careful manipulation of 3D models or objects
is carried out within 3D software for exporting picture sequences giving
them the illusion of animation or movement. However, this is completely
based on the technique used for manipulating the objects.

The procedure of generating 3D is sequentially categorized into

three main sections and these are modeling, layout and animation
and rendering. Modeling is the phase that describes the procedure of
generating 3D objects within a certain scene. Layout and Animation
phase describes the process followed for positioning and animating
the objects within a certain scene. Lastly, Rendering described the
end result or output of completed computer graphics. The process of
production is successfully completed with the careful combination of
the sections mentioned above and also some other sub-sections.

ANIMATED FILMS
CGI short films have been produced as
independent animation since 1976. An
early example of an animated feature
film to incorporate CGI animation was
the 1983 Japanese anime film Golgo
13: The Professional. The popularity
of computer animation (especially in
the field of special effects) skyrocketed
d u r i n g t h e m o d e r n e r a o f U. S.
animation. The first completely computer-
animated movie was Toy Story (1995),
but VeggieTales is the first American fully
3D computer animated series sold
directly (made in 1993); its success
inspired other animation series, such
as ReBoot in 1994.
