The security system of the university has contributed to the failure of curbing crime rates in the

students to report anything that seems suspicious. They have urged the students to seek

The issue of security in the University and any other place requires attention by all the

people and groups involved. Therefore, to enhance security in the institution, students, faculty,

administration, and other stakeholders’ effort are essential. The effort to reduce the crime rate in

the university involves two main groups. I.e. the offenders and the potential victims. Therefore,

the need to raise awareness among the students requires substantial support from the potential

victims such as the students. In collaboration and support from the administration, the student

leaders are anticipated to establish security campaigns that aim to enhance the security of the

institution.

Other stakeholders involved to implement the security solution includes the institution

administration. The school administration believes in providing an enabling environment for

students to carry out their learning activities. Therefore. It is the role of the administration to

ensure that the student, subordinate staffs, and faculty are safe in the institution and the adjacent

places. For instance, the school administration can increase the security sections of the

university’s application that includes the communication line to the security and the police

departments. Therefore, in order to implement the identified solution, the student leaders should

ensure that that the administration has played this role. In addition, the local government is

responsible for ensuring the security of the every citizen including the students. In this case,
student leaders can consult and push the Houston police department can facilitate the raising of
