For 15 KW Load: Important Notes:

• ATS CP Input Breaker > = 52 A 1- All PTN (DWDM) sites will be provided with Type I/II surge protection
• ATS DG Input Breaker > = 52 A of surge current rating of 100KA.
• ATS Load Breaker > = 52 A
• Magnetic Contactor >= 52 A/phase 2- ** New Earth pit will be made on the PTN (DWDM) sites and all DC
with Mechanical Interlocking Power equipment earthing will be done from the new earth pits.
Earthing For PTN/DWDM Sites:
Earthing Requirements For PTN/DWDM Sites and New Physical Sites:

• New Earth Pit is mandatory for all PTN/DWDM sites.

• All DC equipment at the PTN will be grounded with new earth pit whereas AC power components and tower will be grounded from
existing earth pit. AC and DC power earth pits will be differentiated in this way.
• Earth pit will be selected from one of the following methods based on careful analysis of the site (soil test report).
• For All new physical sites earth pits will be part of design.
ATS Power Wiring Diagram

Single ATS Dual ATS (In case of 1+1 DGs)

• All Power cables must be as per the scenario of the site (Single, Sharing, Indoor, PTN) already defined.
• Magnetic Contactors/Breakers rating will be as per scenario of site (Single, Sharing, Indoor, PTN) already defined
• Mechanical Interlocking between contactors is a must along with Electrical Auxiliaries to avoid simultaneous operation of two contactors.
• Control wiring will be designed as per above power diagram.

Important Points
Below mentioned are some important points related to the design;
• AC Power Design is for new physical sites. All new build out sites will follow this design and will not be
applicable on any site already on air. Any existing sites upgradations required will be handled by the
concerned department (O&M) on case to case basis as per existing process in place.
• MCCB (100A) will be 4 pole breaker to protect neutral overcurrent as well.
• If PMT is not installed (e.g. K-Electric, special authority sites, community powered sites etc.) meter to onward
stable power will be used (PMT rating will not be applicable).
• DG and ATS, if mandatory, will be arranged from existing network by O&M and FOPs as per existing DG
relocation criteria.
• For Normal Sites if main power cable (meter to main breaker) is more than 70 meters in length then cable size
(conductor size) need to be re-evaluated before deployment to check for losses. All power cables size in the
design is applicable for up to 70 meters cable length.
• ATS/ ACDB components (circuit breakers, magnetic contactors, SPD’s, etc.) must be verified for proof of
purchase/origin i.e. manufacturer of ATS/DB must provide the proof that these parts are obtained from
authorized dealer or imported from the manufacturer. Vendor must present a quality certificate of the
components from principal for the parts used in the ATS/DB.
• For projects related to existing operational sites O&M will be responsible for AC power upgradations as per
design guidelines and requirement.
• NP will support for any scenario not covered in the design on cases to case basis.
