WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND?

The global economic recession has caused a great impact on the logistics industry as market
demand for logistics services decline due to the plunge in international trade. Domestic markets
are also affected by the downturn as freighting activities slowdown due to the decrease in im-
ports and exports. In such a situation, logistics companies around the world need to minimise
losses, improve services and be prepared for the future in order to sustain through the recession.
Logistics companies should systematically strategized their activities due to changes in demand
from customers, delaying or cancelling investments, demanding increased services at the same
price and wanting to break contracts early. This scenario has led the logistics companies around
the world to strive in grasping the market with the best competitive prices that can be offered to
the customers.

Therefore, many companies are minimizing their operation cost and are struggling to offer the
best prices. In a global economic recession, it is important for logistics companies to explore
and understand the market needs to provide services that could help the company sustain better
through the downturn. Thus, the formulation of strategies towards cost reduction and competi-
tive pricing should be a priority among logistics companies in sustaining their long-term per-
formance as well as supporting the logistic industry. The companies should also consider im-
proving service efficiency and embark on technologies that could reduce supply chain cost and
conserving the environment.
