Earth fault protection
Status
Operated at 23:33:54:078 hrs. However, the magnitude of differential
current lead to tripping of the Transformer on Differential protection.
There were no damages in the OLTC chamber. Hence Oil Surge relay
was not operated.
PRV was operated at 23:33:53:980 hrs but Transformer was already
tripped on Differential protection at 23:33:53:950 hrs.
Heavy Differential Current was sensed in the Transformer leading to
Immediate Tripping of the Transformer on Differential protection at
23:33:53:950 hrs.
Relay picked up at 23:33:53:952 hrs and instantaneous trip command
was generated due to High magnitude current (9.57 kA).However,
main protection, i.e differential had already operated and tripped the
Transformer.

Hence, all associated protections of the Transformer operated satisfactorily.
