RECOGNITION OF DEGREE
The Ukrainian University degrees are globally recog-
nized. They are recognized by the General Medical
Council UK., World Health Organization, American

MCI recognizes only the courses offered by those Medi-
cal institutions which are listed by the WHO (World
Health Organization) in the World directory of medical
schools. Note should also be made that Indian many
private medical colleges are still not recognized by the
MCI.
QUALIFICATION & ELIGIBILITY
The student must have passed the higher secondary
examination or the Indian School Certificate Examina-
tion which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary
Examinations after a period of 12 years of study. The
student must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks
taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the

INDIAN STUDENTS
CHOOSING MEDICINE
Medical education still remains to be a dream for
many students in India due to its high cost and
rigorous academic competitions.
There are many international students from
around the world, including China, India, Europe
and Africa, who have made the decision to study
in Ukraine. This is not surprising since standard of
higher education meets the same standard as in
Western countries to give them an enriching
foundation for their future. The student teacher
ratio is 10:1 and individual attention is given to
each and every student. It is very unique because
nowhere in India we have this kind of facilities.
GETTING ADMISSION
The admission procedure is simple, there is no
entrance exams and cutoff marks, there is no
reservation policy on the basis of caste, creed
and colour. The students will have just to fulfill the
basic eligibility criteria. Moreover, payment for
medical seat alone in India would cost as close to
Rs. 60-70 lakhs, apart from the tuition fees which
is around 15 lakhs per year excluding accommo-
dation. In Ukraine the cost of medical education
starts from Rs. 2.70 lakhs per year that includes
tuition fees, furnished hostel accommodation
and study materials.

Medical University
Kharkiv National Medical University (KNMU) Ukraine is
one of the oldest higher educational establishments of
Ukraine. KNMU is the best medical university in Ukraine
for foreign students to study medicine in Ukraine.
The Degree (MBBS, BDS, MD, MDS, MS, NURSING) of
the Kharkiv National Medical University (KNMU) is
prestigious and recognized in all parts of the world.
KNMU has become an important center for international
students who need expert teaching in learning. The Uni-
versity is currently training about 10,000 students,
among them 4,400 foreign citizens, and its academic
staff consists of more than 630 teachers, including 102
Doctors of Sciences and Professors, 387 Candidates of
Medical Science, 32 members of academies, 17 Honored
Scientists. Number of teaching/academic staff involved in
teaching foreign students: total – 186, among them: doc-
tors of sciences, professors. At present, over 700 teach-
ers work at the departments of the university. Since 1951,
the University has been training medical personnel for
countries of the Eastern Europe, China and Mongolia, and
since 1961 it has been training students from other coun-
tries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. The training is pro-
vided in compliance with the general state syllabuses and
curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education and
Science of Health of Ukraine.

isters and members of parliaments in various countries,
outstanding scientists and famous specialists who found-
ed their own clinics abroad. They have to examine pa-
tients, giving urgent aid, work at X-ray rooms, clinical and
biochemical laboratories. Particular special focus to clini-
cal rounds of patients, their management, filling in and ar-
rangement of case histories with their subsequent analy-
sis. Clinical and theoretical training of the students is per-
formed at 56 departments of the University and the best

V.N. Karazin National University is one of the oldest and
prestigious universities of Eastern Ukraine, it was founded
on 29 January 1804. University with its over 200-year his-
tory is a leading Research and Educational institution in

V.N. Karazin National University is the only university in

Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU) is one of

nivtsi. It has recently celebrated the 65th anniversary of
its foundation. It is a modern multisector educational

The NAU "KhAI" was founded in 1930 on the basis of
aviation division of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.
The University has trained about 60,000 engineers.
More than 80% of the specialists with higher education
who work in Ukrainian aerospace area are the gradu-
ates of the NAU KhAI.
There are around 9,000 students in KhAI, 1,000 of
whom are from abroad. 8 faculties offer 54 Bachelors,
60 Masters programs and different PhD research pro-

About 1,000 professors and 2,500 employees work in
KhAI. Among them there are 550 PhD and Doctors of

The foundation and further history of the Academy is
closely connected with the history of Kherson city. It is an
important port on the Black Sea and Dnieper River, and
the home of a major ship-building industry.
Founded in 1778 and located at advantageous geograph-
ical and military position Kherson became a cradle of
shipbuilding industry on the Black Sea. The rapid devel-
opment of shipbuilding emerged the demand for marine
specialists – navigators and skippers. A new maritime ed-
ucational institution, offering degree in Maritime Engi-
neering, has been founded in 1834 on the 20th of Febru-
ary.
At present, Kherson State Maritime Academy (KSMA) is a
higher educational institution of the ІVth accreditation
level, which trains specialists in area of seagoing and ship-

full-time and correspondence education at KSMA. After
