Robert Ri'chard Promotes Bolden in Theaters May 3rd

Atlanta, GA, April 19, 2019 --(PR.com)-- In advance of the May 3rd theatre release of Bolden,
Emmy-winning actor Robert Ri'chard spread the word about this compelling biopic throughout the
greater Atlanta area. In addition to his appearances on Good Day Atlanta, Sister Circle, and WCLK Jazz
91.9, he took the time to speak to the Atlanta Voice and visit theater students at Spelman College.

Directed by Dan Pritzker and featuring music from Wynton Marsalis, Bolden tells the story of legendary
New Orleans cornet king Charles "Buddy" Bolden - a musician who is widely credited with driving the
creation of what we now call jazz. Although he often placed Bolden beneath him in terms of technical
ability, even trumpet/cornet great and jazz pioneer Louis Armstrong couldn't deny the tremendous impact
that Bolden had on the evolution of jazz as an art form. Playing Armstrong in the film, actor Reno Wilson
calls Bolden “the first king of New Orleans music.”

The second collaboration between Pritzker and Marsalis (the pair previously teamed up for the Armstrong
drama Louis), Bolden features Gary Carr in the titular role. Robert Ri'chard works closely with Carr,
playing the crucial part of Bolden's clarinetist George Banquet.

Ri'chard's standout performance in this leading role not only supports Carr's turn as Bolden perfectly, but
it may just attract award buzz of its own. Ri'chard already holds a Daytime Emmy Award for
“Outstanding Performer” and has attracted attention for his performances in films such as Coach Carter
and House of Wax. He has also appeared in countless prime-time television series that range from CSI:
NY to BET Throwback Holiday. Ri'chard was nominated for a NAACP Image Award in 2000.
