After learning about how living things are classified (plants and animals) students designed their

own animals. They used knowledge from previous grade levels about traits and characteristics
as well as new information about the levels of classification and classified their new species. To
culminate the project, students used recyclable materials to create a 3D model of their animal.
They presented this model and their new animal to the class.
