BRUFEN® Suspension INDICATIONS: Ibuprofen is indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, including juvenile arthritis or Still's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis and other non-rheumatoid (seronegative) arthropathies and acute gouty arthritis. It is also indicated for the treatment of non-articular rheumatic conditions and periarticular
conditions such as frozen shoulder (capsulitis), bursitis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis and low-back pain. It is also used in the treatment of soft-tissue injuries such as sprains and strains, for relief of mild to moderate pain such as primary dysmenorrhea, dental and post-operative pain, postepisiotomy pain, post-partum pain and for the symptomatic relief of headache
including migraine headache. In addition, the suspension is indicated in short-term use for the treatment of pyrexia in children over three months of age. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Ibuprofen is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the inactive ingredients. Ibuprofen should not be given to patients who have
experienced asthma, urticaria or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Ibuprofen is contraindicated in patients with severe heart failure. Ibuprofen is contraindicated in patients with severe liver failure. Ibuprofen is contraindicated in patients with severe renal failure (glomerular filtration below 30 mL/min). Ibuprofen should not be given to
patients with conditions involving an increased tendency to bleeding. In severe and acute cases, it could be advantageous to increase the dosage until the acute phase is over. Daily dose should not exceed 2,400 mg in divided doses. However the dose
could be raised to 3,200 mg if it is necessary but the patient has to be monitored closely. METHOD OF USE: • Take ibuprofen tablets with a glass of water. Ibuprofen tablets should be swallowed whole and not chewed, broken, crushed or sucked on to avoid oral discomfort and throat irritation. SIDE EFFECTS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS: • Ibuprofen is

Overdosage: Ibuprofen overdosage: Symptoms: The symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, loss of consciousness, although this last is rare, and depression of the CNS and respiratory system. Large overdoses are generally well tolerated
as 50 mg per day. Dosage and administration: One film tab when no other drugs are being taken. Treatment: The treatment for overdose is gastric lavage and if necessary correction of serum electrolytes. It is theoretically beneficial to administer and reduce diuresis and, in addition, the use of oral activated charcoal may help reduce the absorption of
tablet daily or as directed by the physician. Avoid exposure to ibuprofen. There is no specific antidote to ibuprofen. Pseudoephedrine Overdosage Symptoms: Symptoms from pseudoephedrine overdose consist most often of mild anxiety, tachycardia and/or mild hypertension. Symptoms usually appear within 4 to 8 hours and are transient, usually requiring
heat and sunlight. Store in a dry place. Replace cap firmly after no treatment. In large doses, sympathomimetics may give rise to giddiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, sweating, thirst, tachycardia, precordial pain, palpitations, difficulty in micturation, muscular weakness, tenseness, anxiety, restlessness, and insomnia. Many patient can present a toxic
use. Not to be injected. psychosis with delusions and hallucinations. Some may develop cardiac arrhythmias, cardiovascular collapse, convulsion, coma and respiratory failure. Warnings: Do not exceed the recommended dosage. If nervousness, restlessness or sleeplessness occures, reduce dosage. Sympathomi-
metic amines should be used with caution in patients with or cardiovascular disease such as ischemic heart disease, arrhythmia or tachycardia, occlusive vascular disorders including arteriosclerosis, hypertension, or aneurysms. Anginal pain may be precipitated in patients with angina pectoris.
Care is required when sympathommetic agents are given to patients with diabetes mellitus or closed-angle glaucoma. May cause excitability, especially in children.
