Ans : Food provides the body with energy. New cells are made from food. Food is needed for growth and repair
of damaged part. We need food to stay healthy.
(ii) What happens to the food that is taken into the body?
Ans : Food that is taken into the body is first changed into the simple substances that dissolve in the blood so that
they can go into the cell and be used by the body.
(iii) How do the plants make their food?
Ans : Plan takes carbon dioxide gas from the air and water and minerals from the soil to make simple sugars, as
glucose.

Ans : Without minerals plants became weak and unhealthy there leaves become yellow and their stem become
