Keyan, observed and learned from her many experiences in our Grade 4 and 5 combined classroom. She is driven to develop her skills as a teacher and reflective of her lessons. Keyan’s ability to connect with her students and her talent at teaching complex concepts such as Climate Change, Early Societies and metric ‘conversions was superior. She also has excellent written and verbal communication skills and her lesson plans were well written and thoroughly organized. Keyan has thorough knowledge of the curriculurn to create learning goals and success criteria for each lesson she taught. Her assessment for, as and of learning is outstanding. She has an excellent understanding of how to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners and her abilty to Support struggling students has been evident throughout her placement. Keyan quickly developed the skills to utilize Google Classroom. She posted assignments and gave students feedback to allow students to improve their work. She possesses strong technology skills and utilized engaging activities such as Plickers and Skype-a-Scientist. She used programs such as Padlet and Jamboard to increase student participation in class discussions. ‘As a student teacher, her on-going dedication and commitment to making a diference during her time with us was demonstrated as she eagerly took on extra responsibilities such as helping with Ecoschools programs, homework club and Girls Coding Club.
