This 3-day training workshop focused on improving greenhouse gas (GHG) calculations for Turkey's Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) sector. Over the course of 9 sessions, participants learned about tier 2 and 3 methods for estimating carbon stock changes and GHG emissions/removals from different land categories. They practiced tracking activity and carbon stock data in spreadsheets to calculate CO2 and non-CO2 emissions and removals. Emphasis was placed on adequately determining carbon sinks and sources above and below ground. Participants also defined quality assurance and quality control rules to implement in their GHG calculation methods and tools.
