IOT BASED SMART INDUSTRIAL SEURITY SYSTEM

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home
appliances, other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators,
and connectivity which enables these objects to connect and exchange data. Each
thing is uniquely identifiable through its embedded computing system but is able
to inter-operate within the existing internet infrastructure.
IoT allows objects to be sensed or controlled remotely across existing network
The infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the
physical world into computer-based systems, and resulting in improved
efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit in addition to reduced human
intervention. When IoT is augmented with sensors and actuators, the technology
becomes an instance of the more general class of cyber-physical systems, which
also encompasses technologies such as smart grids, virtual power plants, smart
homes, intelligent transportation and smart cities.

Applications:
The applications for internet connected devices are extensive. Multiple
categorizations have been suggested, most of which agree on a separation
between consumer, enterprise (business), and infrastructure applications. George
Osborne, the former British Chancellor of the Exchequer, posited that the Internet
of things is the next stage of the information revolution and referenced the inter-
connectivity of everything from urban transport to medical devices to household
appliances.
The ability to network embedded devices with limited CPU, memory and power
resources means that IoT finds applications in nearly every field. Such systems
could be in charge of collecting information in settings ranging from natural
ecosystems to buildings and factories, thereby finding applications in fields
of environmental sensing and urban planning.
Manufacturing:
The IoT intelligent systems enable rapid manufacturing of new products,
dynamic response to product demands, and real-time optimization of
manufacturing production and supply chain networks, by networking machinery,
sensors and control systems together.
Building and home automation
IoT devices can be used to monitor and control the mechanical, electrical and
electronic systems used in various types of buildings (e.g., public and private,
industrial, institutions, or residential) in home automation and building
automation systems. In this context, three main areas are being covered

 The integration of the internet with building energy management systems in

order to create energy efficient and IOT driven “smart buildings”.
 The possible means of real-time monitoring for reducing energy consumption
and monitoring occupant behaviours.
 The integration of smart devices in the built environment and how they might
be used in future applications.

How IoT helps the telecommunications industry

The rise of IOT will drive a fundamental discontinuity in the service provider
market .And while change can have an negative impact ,companies that embrace
the inevitable ,often emerge better than before .IOT can be a catalyst that drives
carriers to modernize their service innovation model, streamline operations
through automation and become an innovative leader in the transformed network.

Arduino:
 Arduino is an open source platform used for building electronics
projects. Arduino consists of both physical programmable circuit
and piece of software or IDE.
 Arduino platform became quite popular with people just starting
out with electronics.
 Arduino IDE uses a simplified version of c++.
 Arduino is an computer hardware and software company and single
board microcontrollers and microcontroller kit for building digital
devices and interactive objects that can senses and control objects.
 Arduino board designs use a variety of microprocessors and
controllers. The boards are equipped with sets of digital and
analog input/output.
 IDE includes a code editor with features such as text cutting and
pasting, searching and replacing text, automatic indenting, brace
matching and syntax highlighting, and provides simple one click
mechanisms to compile and upload programs to an arduino board
 IDE also contains a message area, a text console, a toolbar with
buttons for common functions and a hierarchy of operation
menus.

RASPBERRY PI:
 The Raspberry Pi is a series of small single board computers developed in
the UK.
 The Raspberry Pi is slower than a modern laptop or desktop but is still a
complete Linux computer and can provide all the expected abilities that
implies, at a low power consumption level.
 There are number of developers and applications that are leveraging the
Raspberry Pi for industrial home automation.
 The design allows the use of compute module in harsh industrial
environments leading to the conclusion that the Raspberry Pi is no longer
limited to home and science projects ,but can be widely used as and
industrial IOT solutions.
 In march 2018, SUSE announced commercial support for SUSE Linux
Enterprise on the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B to support number of and
disclosed customers implementing industrial monitoring with the
Raspberry Pi.

8051 controller:
 The Intel 8051 is an 8-bit microcontroller which means that most
available operations are limited to 8 bits.
 There are 3 basic "sizes" of the 8051: Short, Standard, and
Extended.
 The Short and Standard chips are often available in DIP (dual in-line
package) form, but the Extended 8051 models often have a different
form factor and are not "drop-in compatible". All these things are
called 8051 because they can all be programmed using 8051
assembly language, and they all share certain features (although the
different models all have their own special features).

ARM 7 LPC2148:
 ARM stands for Acorn RISC machine is a family of instruction set
architectures for computer processors based on a reduced instruction
set computing (RISC) architecture. And in simple word ARM is
“Processor Achitecture “.
 ARM7 is greatest success family in embedded system application.
So here we learn ARM7TDMI based NXPs controller.
 ARM7 is balance between new Cortex series and old start up. it is
neither too old technology nor latest.
 ARM7 family is excellent for beginners as per my opinion, because
it gives real depth idea about hardware and software implementation
& integration by using appropriate IDE.
 LPC2148 is the widely used IC from ARM-7 family. It is
manufactured by Philips (NXP) and it is pre-loaded with many
inbuilt peripherals making it more efficient and a reliable option for
the beginners as well as high end application developer.
