India’s social challenges are vast and will need collective effort of millions and tens of millions

to give hope to the underprivileged and to make India a better place to live in.

Fortunately, myriad initiatives are already underway across India, across different issues, and
with varying degrees of success that can be the role model for others to emulate / get inspired
with.

Unfortunately, it is difficult (if not impossible) for the average individual / organization to
identify the challenge, the possibilities, the role models, and a conduit to offer support to those
who need it.

In view of the above mentioned need gaps and information asymmetry, SWF aims to create a
web based interface which will act as a library or a knowledge sharing portal where in
individuals willing to extend support can get to know about others who have been involved in
such initiatives.

Institutional Care Program

Under the Institutional Care program, Sanjeevani Welfare Foundation seeks to provide
shelter, care, homely atmosphere and a dignified to children from difficult circumstances
like street and run-away children, victims of child abuse, children of lifetime convicts, -Ve
children of HIV/ AIDS +Ve parents, children of sex workers, and other vulnerable
categories. The program started few months back and now growing by leaps and bounds.
Health Care

Even after decades of freedom, India is struggling to provide basic health services to its people.
According to government sources, in India 45 children die every hour due to respiratory
infections. 1 child dies every 2 minutes due to diarrhoea. And annually, about 2 million children
under 5 years of age die due to preventable diseases.

The situation calls for timely care and diagnosis which can reduce the incidence of
morbidity and mortality especially among children and women. Sanjeevani Welfare
Foundation aims to improve the health seeking behaviour among the community. The
uniqueness of the model lies in its comprehensive approach where health promotion and
prevention are given equal importance while curative care is administered.
Differently Abled

To enable concerned people to contribute to India’s development by building bridges between

the needy and those helping them.

A Girl Child and Women Empowerment Initiative

There are several clear indicators of the fact that Indian women continue to be discriminated
against – the sex ratio is skewed against them; maternal mortality is the second highest in the
world; more than 40% of women are illiterate; and crimes against women are in all respects
rising. In the given scenario, the only way to bring about sustainable development in the poor
condition of underprivileged women and girls in the country is to empower them – with
education and good health. And a simultaneous approach is the need of the hour.

Gender Equity
Our mission is to work towards gender equity in which women have enhanced socio-cultural,
economic and political opportunities, enabling them to take crucial decisions which affect them
and their families.
