Verbal and Mental Abuse Lesson Plan

Objective: To teach my classmates what constitutes Verbal and Mental Abuse, how to recognize
Verbal and Mental Abuse, what our duty is to students in terms of mandatory reporting, and to
be aware of our own tendencies when disciplining students.

Materials/Equipment: Verbal and Mental Abuse Assessment Handout (7 questions), Thought


Exercise to be performed on White Board. PowerPoint presentation.

Instruction:
• Handout the Verbal and Mental Abuse Assessment.
• Start with name, a little bit about why I chose the topic, and explain the assessment.

• Class will close their eyes, and listen as I read out a scenario. Following
