Statistics about Working During College

● Nearly 80% of students work during the school year.


● Working while attending school helps build character and time
management skills.
● But, if students work too many hours is creates high levels of stress and
anxiety making it less likely for that student to complete their degree.
● Many colleges recommend that students work only 10-15 per week.

We found that most students, if


they do work, work off campus
compared to on campus. About 46
students work off campus and 34
student do not work at all. (Based
on a survey of 90 students.)

Out of the 56 students that reported they
are working, 12 responded that their work
schedule does not interfere with their
school performance. The second highest
number reported was 7, with 10 students
reporting.

Out of the 34 students that reported they
are not working, 33 responded that their
work schedule does not interfere with their
school performance. But one student
responded with a seven, even though they
are not working.
Analysis
● When looking at our data collected and
charts, we concluded that a student’s work
schedule does not interfere with their school
performance. Even though the responses
varied on the scale, the most common
number chosen was 1, meaning there was no
interference between work and school.
