Pedagogy Planning

Activity The students will choose two culturally different
types of texts that have been read in the class so
far to discuss the similarities and differences
between those two texts. The students will have to
have a combination of audio and visual of
themselves in the VoiceThread recording. When
they are only having audio of themselves, they
need to have visual aids, such as a picture or
diagram, to help describe the similarities and/or
differences of the two texts. If the students are
doing a visual recording of themselves in the
VoiceThread app for their assignment, they need to
hold up a visual of a picture or diagram, whatever
is necessary for their specific point, to help describe
what is going on with the similarities and/or
differences with the two texts. The students need
to have at least four similarities and four
differences that have been found between the two
texts. The students will be evaluated on how well
they fulfilled the requirements and used the
technology for their assignment. The teacher will
create/have an example on their VoiceThread
account for the students to use as a reference for
what would be required.
Pedagogy
The students will be divided into groups of 3-4 for
this assignment. They will choose from one of the
texts that has been previously read in the class as
the subject for their Facebook post. The groups of
students will choose from one of the Facebook post
template options to use for their assignment. The
group of students will decide amongst themselves
who will start the Facebook post, after the group as
a whole agrees on which template to use, and send
out the link to the other group members through
the Canva app. The students will create a 6 slide
Facebook post not including the title. The students
will add new slides by sliding their fingers to the
left of the app screen. If there are 3 students in a
group, each student will work on two slides of the
Facebook post with their group members looking at
the slides for editing and making sure they fit with
their theme/presentation. If there are four
students in a group, two students together will
work on 3 of the slides, with the other two group
members looking at the slides for editing and
making sure they fit with their
theme/presentation. In addition, the group of
students will work together to create their title
page. The groups of students will be evaluated on
how well they fulfilled the requirements, used the
technology for their assignment, and how
effectively they collaborated with each other to
complete this assignment. The teacher will
create/have an example on their Canva account for
the students to use as a reference for what would
be required.
