Summary: This dissertation was about classroom management and how it is a topic of fear for
many pre- service teachers. This was a study that interviewed seven veteran teachers about
effective classroom management strategies. They provided recommendations, offered different
management plans, and words of advice for novice teachers. This study emphasized the fact
that a lot of pre- service teachers do not have the support they need when it comes to
classroom management and possible behavior problems. This dissertation was meant to use the
words of advice from former teachers to help teach the future teachers.
