To Whom It May Concern,

I am honored to recommend Ms. Fernanda Azevedo as a music educator in your school district. We have had the
pleasure of hosting Nanda as a student teacher at Mountain View High School this winter, and have been able to
observe here full set of skills as a music educator. As her cooperating teacher, I believe wholeheartedly in her
abilities to successfully educate and lead students.

Nanda is a highly organized and efficient professional, performing all of her duties in a timely and proficient
manner. She presents engaging material to students in a precise and understandable way, modeling for students in
addition to explaining fundamentally sound concepts. Nanda asks students questions that promote introspective
thought, often encouraging students to be self-critical and to analyze situations.

One of Nanda’s greatest strengths is her ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Students feel comfortable asking her questions or seeking assistance, and she relates well to students at all levels.
Her comfort level and calm demeanor create a safe and positive environment for students, encouraging them to
grow as musicians. Nanda has quickly found ways to network and collaborate with other educators, and seeks out
the advice and assistance of her colleagues.

Nanda is also a fine musician, performing and leading private instruction on the saxophone. Her private students
continually make steady progress, and speak highly of her teaching. This musicianship flows over into the
classroom, where she makes excellent musical choices to bring out nuances in performances. Her experience as
Drum Major of the Marching Royal Dukes of James Madison University has also helped her develop definitive
leadership qualities that serve her well in the classroom and on the marching field.

Nanda continues to develop her skills as a fine music educator, and demonstrates her increased knowledge through
her teaching. She is a well-rounded musician and instructor who immediately connects with students and peers,
which along with her strong work ethic and dedication have led to a successful beginning to her teaching career. I
highly recommend Nanda for employment in your district, and encourage you to contact me if I can provide any
further feedback.

Sincerely,
