Assignment Title: Beowulf Values

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to end the semester with an A and improve on my essays. I want to have
minimal grammar mistakes and improve with writing an introduction.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of writing this assignment was to explain the values that were shown in Beowulf. We had to find
evidence that proved the character value.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I performed well in relation to the expectation of the writing rubric I received an 85 because I missed my
work cited page and had a couple of grammar mistakes.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I think I did well on providing good evidence for the characters values. For an example, for Beowulf value of
heroism I used the line where he goes to Hrothgar to ask for permission to save the Geats from Grendal.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I chose to revise this writing assignment because I needed to fix a couple grammar mistakes such as adding
commas and removing words. I also fix the layout of my paper like removing extra space between
paragraphs, capitalizing the title, and removing headers from other pages.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
For my next assignment I will self-edit more before I submit it. I had simple mistakes that I could’ve fix
before submitting. Such as fixing the layout of my paper and fixing simple grammar mistakes.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I successfully achieved my previously goal I said I would have a good grade for first semester and I
accomplished it.
3) Revise the paper accordingly and highlight any changes.
4) Submit the revision and this reflection sheet.
