Pointe Foure Vintage Boutique and STAY VOCAL Team Up to Host

Event Promoting Sustainability

Erie, Pa. – Pointe Foure Vintage Boutique owner Emily George and Alex Eaves of STAY

VOCAL, a traveling apparel brand that promotes sustainability, are working together to hold an

event called Reuse on the Hill at 2508 Peach St. and its adjacent lot on June 1 from 11 a.m. to 8

p.m.

Reuse on the Hill will include free tours of Eaves' box truck, which he converted into a mobile

tiny home with reused and recycled materials, a STAY VOCAL pop-up shop selling apparel and

accessories, a T-shirt recycling workshop led by Eaves, a workshop led by George focusing on

vintage and fast fashion and other activities for adults and children led by local vendors.

Reuse on the Hill was designed to raise awareness of the environmental impact of waste and

different ways to make a difference through small lifestyle changes throughout the Erie

community. Textile waste is particularly prevalent to Reuse on the Hill, being that discarded

clothing typically ends up in landfills.

"Working with STAY VOCAL has allowed us to expand the event," said George. "My area of

knowledge is primarily fashion and textile waste, so Alex's experiences add more depth to our

understanding of the topic of sustainability."

STAY VOCAL is Eaves’ apparel brand that focuses on reused materials and sustainable living.

Eaves travels around the United States giving speeches, consulting, writing, and holding

workshops to spread awareness of environmental issues, all of which he will be doing at Reuse

on the Hill. He has also created a film, “REUSE Because You Can’t Recycle the Planet,” which

will be shown at the event.

“I am so excited to come to Erie for Reuse on the Hill,” said Eaves. “It is extremely important

that we do what we can to nurture the planet and change the detrimental cycles of mass

consumption. I am excited to teach the people of Erie ways that they can make a difference.”
