1. Introduction
‘The second International Conference on Bio-based
Building Materials ICBBM) and the first International
Conference on Ecological Valoristin of Granular and
Fibrous materials (BeoGRAFI) were held together 3
ICBBM EcoGRAPHI 2017 on June 21-23, 2017 in
Clermont-Ferrand. France, hie conference covers a
‘wide range of diverse and original subjees from around
the world, Topics included natural fibers, mechanical
performance, bio-durabilty of bio-based building
materials, eco-tiendly binders, methodology, rammed
arth, and ease studies, Over 260 participants from 40
countries atended the conference. I mse presented &
‘paper entitled “Influence of Diferent Concentration of
“Tris Buffer Solution on Caleium Carbonate Precipitation
in Bio-based Repair Materials
2 Overview
JICDBM BeoGRAFI 2017 isan international conference
having for objective the review and dfusion of current
koowledge about bulding materials and civil engineering
lated to granular and/or fibrous materials (soils,
mineral and vegetal aggregates, demolition materials,
Industrial products for onstruction). The conference is
Aesigned to promote exchanges and discussions among
researchers, engineers and industrialists on the elabo
ration, design characterization, and performance ofthese
materials, as well as experience feedback about their
se. from the viewpoint of sustainable development. The
conference chairs were Prof. Soiane AMZIANE and
Prof Pere Breul from the Institut Pascal in Clermont
Ferrand, France, and DrMoammed SONEBI, from
‘Queen's University Belfast, Beast, UK. Nearly 200
papers were submitted to ICBBM EcoGRAFI 2017, and

sessions in addition toa further 20 papers presented
Alring the poster sessions, Seven plenary sessions and
8 workshops, namely JEMAB 2017, TyCCAO, and a
‘workshop on bio-based adhesives, were held. The lace
‘ion of the conference was at the Polydome Clermont
errand, an impressive venue befiting such an important
event. The previous, and first. International Conference
on Bio-based Building Materials also took place in
