GOAL: SWBAT phrase the sequence motifs correctly by crescendoing through ties ○ French Horns and Alto Saxophones - m. 5 - m. 8; m. 13 - m. 16; m. 25 - m. 28 ○ Flute and Clarinet 1 - m. 21 - m. 24; m. 45 - m. 48 ○ Flute, Clarinet, Cornet 1 - m. 33 - m. 36; m. 41 - m. 44 ■ Teacher will model the sequence motif by crescendoing to the second tied note that occurs on beat 1 ○ “Crescendo over the bar line” ■ Hear one place with FH & Altos and one place with FL, CL, CRNT ○ Provide feedback and model again if necessary ■ Play A - E ○ “Pay attention to where you have this motif throughout the piece” ○ For musicians without this part, still crescendo through your phrases, even though it’s not marked - make it musical! ■ Hear Alto Saxophones and French Horn at m. 29, beat 4 ○ Lovely countermelody that we haven’t heard before ○ Continue to crescendo through the ties! ■ Play C - G ○ Provide feedback from the last time musicians played
