PLANNING CENTER PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS

Project 1 (Module/Week 2): You have been assigned to be the worship leader/worship director
for a particular Sunday service. Please log into the LU WMUS 400 Planning Center section and
invite 5 members from your potential team to minister on drums, bass guitar, acoustic guitar,
keys, and background vocals (BGV) with you. Also, invite your LU WMUS 400 course
instructor to be the audio director. Finally, choose 3 songs from the list of available songs in
Planning Center to be in the service list for the Sunday service.
Project 2 (Module/Week 4): This project ensures that you know how to upload files and create
links in Planning Center.
A. Type into a Word document the lyrics to a single worship song from your Leonard
fakebook that has at least a verse, a chorus, and a bridge or chorus 2 (3 sections
minimum). Resave that document as a PDF file in the format yourlastname firstname
songtitleA.PDF. Do the following things in Planning Center:
1. Add a new song to the Planning Center song database. Give it the name of songtitleA.
2. Upload your PDF file to the songtitleA section, under arrangement.
3. Designate a song format order for the song arrangement: verse, chorus, bridge,
chorus, etc.
4. Find a YouTube link that presents the songtitleA song in some fashion. It does not
need to follow your song format order. Paste that link into the songtitle section in the
links area.
B. Type into a Word document the lyrics to a single hymn from your Lifeway hymnbook
that has as least 3 verses, or 2 verses and a refrain. Resave that document as a PDF file in
the format yourlastname firstname songtitleB.PDF. Do the following things in Planning
Center:
1. Add another new song to the Planning Center song database. Give it the name of
songtitleB. This will be your hymn.
2. Upload your PDF file to the songtitleB section, under arrangement.
3. Designate a song format order for the hymn arrangement: verse1, verse2, verse3, etc.,
or verse1, refrain, verse2, refrain, etc.
4. Find a YouTube link that presents the songtitleB song in some fashion. It does not
need to follow your song format order. Paste that link into the songtitle section in the
links area.

Submit Planning Center Project 1 by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the Module/Week 2. Submit
Planning Center Project 2 by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the Module/Week 4.
