Warm-Up
● Tuning
● Eb Major scale in quarter notes
● Rhythm Activity
○ Start with sixteen eighth notes and take one away until:
○ Orange rhythm at m.9-10
○ Blue rhythm at m. 13-14
○ Line up the two rhythms next to each other… what do we notice?
■ They fit together so we hear eighth notes on every beat
■ So when we clap all together, it’s going to sound just like sixteen eighth
notes in a row
○ Clap your respective rhythms - what you have at m. 60 (for example)
■ Horns play rhythm 2; percussion get to pick
○ Now SWITCH
○ These are the two main rhythm patterns we encounter in Rhythm Stand
○ There is one more, alternating between two eighth notes and one eighth rest

Rhythm Stand
● So, let’s just try it from the beginning!
○ If you don’t have a pencil… bring one for next rehearsal! You’ll need it!
○ For now, pat on your leg!
● Play through beginning to m. 25, just trying to put the parts together
○ Provide feedback, what is/not together
● Try again
