STATEMENT OF WORK

SAN DRIVE UPGRADE, IMPLEMENTATION AND MIGRATION SERVICES

INTRODUCTION

This document defines the requirements, deliverables, tasks, and scope of the work to
be delivered by a qualified VENDOR to the DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SOCIAL
SERVICES (“DPSS”). VENDOR shall provide the services necessary to accomplish all
of the tasks and subtasks in this Statement of Work (SOW) and to successfully install,
configure, test, and implement all of the solution components including, but not limited
to, all associated software and/or firmware, patches/fixes, and interfaces, post
implementation support, technical and end‐user training. VENDOR is responsible for all
acts, and services required to provide DPSS with a fully functional System in
accordance with the Manufacturer’s Specifications, whether or not the acts or services
required to do so are specifically identified as a task, subtask, or deliverable in this
Statement of Work, and unless otherwise expressly stated, all work described in this
Statement of Work shall be performed by VENDOR. DPSS is responsible for procuring
and taking delivery of all required solution components prior to commencement of
installation and engineering services.

Vendor Qualifications

All configuration and integration work must be completed by VENDOR with the following
credentials. VENDOR must be an authorized EMC GOLD LEVEL BUSINESS
PARTNER with EMC certified implementation engineers on staff. In addition, VENDOR
must have VMware Enterprise level certifications with Infrastructure Virtualization
specialization. In the event technical support or other services are required during or
after the end of the project due to problems resulting from this project, one of
VENDOR’s certified engineers must be able to respond on site within four hours for
diagnosis and problem resolution or escalation. All equipment must be supplied in brand
new, unused, condition. All equipment must come from the manufacturer or an
authorized EMC Reseller with full USA manufacturer warranty and USA manufacturer
technical support. Equipment shall not be gray market.
 
Scope Details

Project Overview
This service offering provides fixed-scope SAN Disk Shelf Installation, Implementation
and Data Migration Services. This covers the installation of drive shelves (DAEs),
implementation and configuration of block/file storage. Data migration services
migrates data from exiting storage (“source”) to an EMC Storage Array (“target”). SRM
Software Suite will be implemented to collect and analyze data that reside on the SAN.

Project Scope
Vendor personnel or authorized agents shall work closely with customer staff to perform
the following services:

Solution Architecture Scope Details


The service provides a Solutions Architect, whose ultimate goal will be to design the
solution to be implemented. Tasks include:
• Verify Customer’s hardware and software requirements.
• Designs of an EMC Enterprise Storage Network/Storage Area Network solution
or, alternatively, validates a Customer-provided design of such solution.
Specifically, the Solution Architect focuses on the advanced design of:
 Fabrics and/or VSANs (when using Cisco Fibre Channel switches).
 A relevant IP addressing scheme to fit the solution.
 Relevant naming conventions.
 Fabric zoning.
 Volume LUN access.
 Volume security.
 Data migration considerations.
• Reviews and consultations on system implementation/cut-over plans.

VNX Rack, Stack, and Implementation Scope Details


• Racks additional DAEs purchased.
• Cables the equipment.
• Installs and configures Unisphere Management Suite software.
• Checks system health.
• Installs any layered applications enabler.
• Enables a RAID storage configuration on the array.

VNX Block Configuration Scope Details


• Configures block storage connectivity for up to thirty (30) hosts, either FC, FCoE
or iSCSI protocol.
• Configures a maximum of thirty hosts using a common operating system with a
maximum of two host bus adapters (HBA) or converged network adapters (CNA)
or iSCSI HBAs per host
• Creates up to thirty storage groups, and assign LUNs for each host. Note: This
service covers a total of up to four LUNs per host.
• Creates up to total of 120 zones for all thirty hosts.
• Installs Unisphere Service Manager.
• Installs PowerPath on up to thirty hosts when applicable.
• Configures the final Unisphere host agents on all thirty hosts.
• Validates FC, FCoE, or iSCSI host connectivity to storage system.
• Validates that host can access newly presented LUNs.

VNX File Configuration Scope Details


• Configures File Storage connectivity for up to twenty four file systems.
• Configures up to two network interfaces on one Data Mover.
• Implements up to eight CIFS servers or SFS(s) validated within a single Windows
domain.
• Configures up to twenty four file systems and CIFS shares.
• Implements Active Directory (AD) authentication protocol.
• Configures the Name Resolution protocol (Domain Naming Server), if required.
• Configures up to twenty four SnapSure™ checkpoints, if licensed, with one snap
for each day.
• Enables quotas for up to twelve file systems.
• Implements the file system full notification through Unisphere.
• Validates the File system access from the hosts with CIFS protocol.
VNX Monitoring and Reporting Software Implementation Scope Details
• Performs data collection in preparation of the installation of the EMC Watch4Net
for VNX software.
• Presents each proposed solution to the Customer and obtains the Customer’s
agreement.
• Review and validates the pre-deployment requirements as defined by each
solution are met and acquires required installation information from the
Customer.
• Installs and configures EMC Watch4Net for VNX software and report packages.
• Configures monitoring, complying, and reporting on one EMC VNX storage array
in the Customer’s environment.
• Confirms licensing information is correctly implemented for EMC Watch4Net
software.
• Validates EMC Watch4Net to ensure they are installed and configured properly
and according to the designed solution.

Virtual Storage Integrator Implementation Scope Details


• Enables the Virtual Storage Integrator plug-in between EMC VNX and VMware
environment.
• Provides an orientation of the integration points of the EMC VNX with VMware
ESXi, including:
 VMware APIs for Array Integration (VAAI)
 VMware APIs for Storage Awareness (VASA)
 Virtual Storage Integrator – Unified Storage Management
 Virtual Storage Integrator – Storage Viewer
 Virtual Storage Integrator – Path Management
 Virtual Storage Integrator – Access Control
• Installs and configures the Virtual Storage Integrator components on a single
vClient instance:
 Solutions Enabler
 Navisphere CLI
 Virtual Storage Integrator – Storage Viewer
 Virtual Storage Integrator – Unified Storage Management
 Virtual Storage Integrator – Path Management
 Virtual Storage Integrator – Access Control Utility
• Provides an orientation and knowledge transfer for virtual infrastructure
functionality within the vClient, including:
 Provisioning and expanding storage
 Virtual machine compression
 Full and fast cloning of a virtual machine
 Storage mapping and management
 Storage performance monitoring
 I/O path management
• Completes the Configuration Guide to document the implementation.
• Verifies the installation and configuration results, using the Test Plan.
Data Migration for Block Scope Details
 Performs data discovery with the help of the Customer, data correlation, and
analysis of the migration environment, including the following:
 Collects host environment configuration information on up to 20 hosts with
a maximum of 20 TB of data and 20 LUNs per host.
 Collects SAN switch information for analysis (from up to two switches).
 Collects existing storage configuration information (on one storage array).
 Performs analysis of collected information.
 Summarizes the migration environment including migration issues and
constraints.
 Reviews data migration procedures.
 Documents the proposed architecture in the Configuration Guide.
 Develops the Test Plan for the migration.
 Prepares the migration plan for up to twenty hosts and recommends updates to
the migration environment that includes, but is not limited to, the following:
 Summary of the end-use Customer requirements
 Chosen migration methodology flowchart
 SAN switch zoning with up to four zones per host (pre-migration and post-
migration)
 Source to target LUN/volume mappings
 Migration schedule with event window details and cutover windows
 Pre-migration tasks (offline or online activities)
 Procedure for migration
 Migration cutover activities
 Rollback/back-out plan and activities
 Post migration tasks
 Reviews the migration plan created in the architecture and design phase.
 Validates the target migration environment against the EMC Support Matrix
requirements.
 Verifies the network, server, or storage configuration changes required.
 Perform storage provisioning of target LUNs.
 Perform installation and/or setup of the migration tool, as required.
 Initiates block data migration for a maximum of 20 TB of data and 20 LUNs per
host to EMC storage with one of the following:
 Specific array-based migration methods:
– PowerPath Migration Enabler
– Open Migrator
– SAN Copy
 Executes the data migration cutover during one migration event (up to eight
hours).
 Performs post-migration clean up, including removal of any zoning, device
mappings, port connections, and migration software, or storage configuration
settings that are no longer required in the environment.
 Documents the results and provides the customer with the applicable
documentation.
 Coordinates project closeout, review, and sign-off.
Data Migration for File Scope Details
• Performs data discovery with the help of the Customer, data correlation, and
analysis of the migration environment, including the following:
 Collects configuration information on one “source” storage array up to 10
file systems with a maximum of 15 TB data.
 Collects configuration information on one “target” storage array.
 Performs analysis of the collected configuration.
• Summarizes the migration environment including migration issues and
constraints.
• Reviews data migration procedures.
• Documents the proposed architecture in the Configuration Guide.
• Develops the Test Plan for the migration.
• Plans the single protocol migration solution: CIFS or NFS with standard fixed file
formats in a single security domain.
• Prepares the migration plan for up to ten file systems and recommends updates
to the migration environment that includes, but is not limited to, the following:
 Summary of the end-use Customer requirements.
 Chosen migration methodology flowchart.
 Source to target filesystem/volume mappings.
 Migration schedule with event window details and cutover windows.
 Pre-migration tasks (offline or online activities).
 Procedure for migration.
 Migration cutover activities.
 Rollback/back-out plan and activities.
 Post migration tasks.
• Conducts a migration plan review meeting with the Customer.
• Finalizes the migration plan and provides the Customer with the applicable
documentation.
• Conducts an implementation review meeting.
• Validates that the equipment is on-site at the appropriate location with
requirements met.
• Validates the target migration environment against the EMC Support Matrix
requirements.
• Verifies the network, server, or storage configuration changes required.
• Performs storage configuration of target file systems.
• Performs installation and/or setup of the migration tool as required.
• Performs the tests in the Test Plan.
• Initiates file data migration to EMC storage for single protocol (CIFS or NFS) with
one of the following:
 Specific array-based migration methods:
– VNX File Migration Tool
– VNX Replicator
 Specific host-based migration methods:
– EMCopy
– Robocopy
– RSync
• Executes the data migration cutover during one migration event (up to eight
hours).
• Verifies drive mappings and source file system objects.
• Disconnects source and redirect applications and/or hosts to target (if required).
• Verifies the ability of the app or hosts to read from the target storage.
• Performs post-migration clean up, including removal of any zoning, device
mappings, port connections, and migration software or storage configuration
settings that are no longer required in the environment.
• Documents the results and provides the Customer with the applicable
documentation.
• Coordinates project closeout, review, and sign-off.

DPSS Responsibilities

 Provide at least one technical contact with system administration responsibilities


and appropriate system/information access privileges.
 Ensure that all environment and operational requirements are met prior to
commencement of the services.
 Verify that the equipment location(s) is prepared prior to the commencement of
the services.
 Provide VENDOR onsite/offsite personnel and authorized agents with access to
the DPSS’ systems and networks (including, without limitation, remote systems
and remote network access) as necessary to perform the services during normal
business hours, or at mutually agreed times.
 Provide support from technical support teams for all vendors and third parties, as
necessary.
 Responsible for network connectivity, performance, and configuration issues.

Services Scope Changes


Any changes to the services or the schedule must be mutually agreed upon by
VENDOR and the DPSS in writing. Depending on the scope of such changes, a
separate Professional Services Statement of Work detailing the changes, the impact of
the proposed change on the charges and schedule, and other relevant terms, must be
mutually agreed to in writing.

Completion
Software must be fully installed and implemented no later than February 2015.This
document defines the requirements, deliverables, tasks, and scope of the work to be
delivered by VENDOR to the DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SOCIAL SERVICES (DPSS).
VENDOR shall provide the services necessary to accomplish all of the tasks and
subtasks in this Statement of Work (SOW) and to successfully install, configure, test,
and implement all of the components listed in EXHIBIT A (Component Listing) including,
but not limited to, all associated software and/or firmware, patches/fixes, and interfaces,
post implementation support, technical and end-user training
