● M. 43 Pencil Taps, Finger Snaps, Drumstick Clicks and Rims ● Ask three individual sections, who else is playing the same part as you? ● Repeat this section again so students can listen around them ○ Trumpet, Horn, Trombone ○ Flute, Oboe, Clarinet 1&2 ○ Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Baritone, Tuba ○ Drumsticks (Percussion 1&2) ○ Playing on the Rim (Percussion 4, 5, Timpani) ● Play through “puzzle piece” slowly section starting at m. 53 slower while percussion section clicks steady eighth notes ○ Students should play so it sounds like one person is playing rather than an entire band ● Slow down transition m. 59, focusing on accurate notes and dynamics ○ Bass Drum and percussion drive the crescendo
